How hard is it to replace the rotors and brake pads?

well you should rub down the rotors with an abrasive like a scotch brite pad when you install it. This will give the pads some texture to bite into. A shiny smooth rotor isnt going to brake well.

i ordered the powerslot replacements.
these require more that "plug and play" as mentioned above?
i dont think scratching is a good idea considering these rotors are coted with anti-corrosive that is superior to zinc plating

Most rotors come with coating, powerslots do that helps with the bedding process, so if yours comes with a coating dont use a scotchbrite, if they dont come with a coating, then yes, scuff them up a little.
also, go to pepboys and get some pad "lube" for the lack of a better term, it goes between the back of the pad, and the clip, it keeps it from rattling.....
but the powerslots are a good choice, and they are basically how i said to install them.
no special or secret tricks......
