Well, I for one am not condoning it and think it is stupid. I used to live about an hour from the nearest track... and most people were willing to drive a whole hour (heavens no.... oh my god, a whole hour) to go race. The others actually picked a road that ended in a field (small town) to go race on. If you are racing the local a-hole in town on any road he happens to pull up next to you on... well.. I hope that your license will be swiftly suspended.

The only real advice I can give a 16 year old is:
"
1) Learn to drive first.. sorry, you are not a "race car driver", you have zero experience in the real world of driving

2) Go to a track, a dead end road in the middle of nowhere, etc, and learn how to drive hard in a straight line without destroying your car

3) Drive for a few years

Dont go out on public streets and end up one of those idiot kids wrapped around a telephone pole. cause if it is the pole near my house.. the wreck will be the least of your worries :D

There are plenty of ways nowadays to go and have fun in your car without endangering all the bystanders or other drivers around. I have no sympathy if you wreck and kill yourself and others on public roads.

agreed but in response...i doubt he'll end up wrapped around a tree or a pole. He will be the kid that walks away while the family of four in the car he smashed are all dead. You want to live with that the rest of your life?

Just keep it off the streets is all I'm getting at. Lots of people get killed every year over something stupid. Be smart, you're young and not a great driver yet. I mean my sisters are your age and the thought of them driving scares the crap out of me. Driving is a privledge, so please use it wisely and be safe.

To the 16 y/o.......listen to the last 3-4 posts. Learn to drive safely for about 2-3 years. Don't be an idiot and race everyone just b/c you think 160 hp is fast. Just b/c your car can do something doesn't mean it should. I agree with the post about him being the one walking away from an accident where the others die. The ignorant are always the lucky ones. Just keep your RPMs below 4k and just drive the car like it's a car and not a NASCAR.

Just be careful!!

thats def. wheel hop. Common problem for our cars. Get a engine damper from ingalls. We tend to have to do low power launches then go WO once we get moving or else we get that nasty wheel hop and/or tons of wheel spin.
