lightest and cheapest rims for tC
Does anyone out there know what the lightest and cheapest rims for tC. I know at one time, the Konig Hellium was best bang for the buck but now I can't find it to fit the Tc.

15's or 16's on a TC? eww.
A tall modern car like ours w/ a 106" wheelbase makes 17's look plenty small. Anything smaller looks blah.
Remember, that's 18.5 lbs. for 17's that are 8" wide. Good if you're interested in getting the most rubber for the dollar under your TC.
Here's the 17" TC list for edge racing...

Those Flik Hornets are nice for stock size rims. The +35 offset means they flush out a little more and are not so tucked in...which is cool.
If you want to cut the width difference with more "name brand" rims, there are those Falken Hanabi's. 17x7.5's at 17 lbs. each.

depends what hes looking for in his wheels/tires. i personally wouldnt put 15's or 16's, ive always had 18's on my tC since i dont track or auto-x or anything like that. he sound like he wanted cheap and light, for track wheels im guessing, so i suggested some 15's or 16's since it doesnt matter how you look if youre wanting to be light and go fast and those would give you the lightest wheels. those 17x8 rims would be good if he wanted the extra traction by using a 235 or even 245 tire, but he could also get a 15x8 or 16x8. just depends on what youre goals and purposes are.

i heard that you also have to calibrate your speedometer when changing rims because it changes the surface area and therefore you speedometer is off.
i am a mesh kinda of guy so I like the rpm2 but kinda pricey for me.

You don't have to calibrate your speedo if you get the correct size wheel/tire combination. There's a plus size coversion.... stock size is 215/45R17. If you went to an 18" wheel, you'd run 215/40R18's without a problem.

Yes, but don't forget, light wheels can also mean weak wheels. For example, a hand full of friends I know that purchased Rota's ended up breaking them on a nice pothole... not to say that will happen with all light wheels, but dont forget... there's almost always a trade off... and if there isnt a trade off, thats when you spend the big bucks. Id go for the +35 offset... enjoy... if you want to know more about rims, drop me a msg, I'll get you more info than you want ;)
18.5 lbs for a 17" wheel, def not the lightest. Lighter possibilities would be for a 16" or even 15" wheel. Rota's are light and cheap.

Me personally, I wouldnt go for the Rotas, because weight isn't a huge issue to me. it just always depends on the goal of what the driver wants outta his setup. It sounds like OP in later posts would rather have a cheaper wheel while HOPEFUlly being pretty light. From original post, it just sounded like he wanted a cheap/light wheel. for which I still would recommend a 16" or 15", which are typically lighter and cheaper over a 17" wheel, especially when accounting for tires. When people are looking for suggestions, (and when people are giving them), it would really help to know the person's goals.

if u cant afford the rim you really want, why not invest in better tires and use the stock rim. because rims are no good if it cant grip.
lightest and cheapest is hard to come by, often u find them in cheapo cars.

Your car can be: a) fast, b) cheap, c) reliable....pick two.
