a lil help here
ive searched, but im a lil torn as i have a lil dfferent offset than most of u guys
i was going to put my stock wheels back on but tires are more expensive for them than my 18s!!!!!!!!!!!
i just ordered my koni struts and hotchkis sway sets. im on h-tech springs and some 225/40 on rota p45f 18x8 +48offset. the only issue i have is hitting bad bumps and rubbin the inner fender liner where one of the clips is missing for the liner , so thats not an issue.
im wondering if i could run up to a 235 or even a 245 tire without any major rubbing issues? what would you guys recommend? im trying to get some rubber on the road to accomodate my new mods, but dont wanna overdue it and rub.
what aspect ratio would be ok? 235/40 or 35? i figured on 245, id need to go with a 245/35 or 30? would like to go with the widest, but will 245 be ok on 8" wide?
if the offset isnt aggressive enough i can always run some spacers if need be. my main concern is hittin the inner strut mount or hittin the body itself. being they are tucked under pretty well im not too concerned about the body hitting.
anyways. thoughts, suggestions?

h-techs settle just a little bit higher than TRDs do... but why do you want to go with a 245mm width tire? ...I've ran 225's...could run 235s on my 2" drop Hotchkis....but that would be pushing it. On h-techs..you might get away with it..but running 245s IMO....you could run the risk of rubbing on the painted edge of the fender well on normal roads.

hotchkis and h-techs are pretty similar drop wise, hotchkis tend to run lower in the rear and htechs tend to run a slight front end rake. you could run 245s with the right wheel.

There are a number of variables that go into how a set of springs while ultimately settle.
I believed from what I have heard that the h-techs are either at the trd drop or a little higher...this is coming from other people I know that have the h-techs on their cars....I knew the S-techs were a slightly lower drop than my 2" Hotchkis.

lol op worded it all weird and made it seem like a smartass remark, but he's right. h-techs do go a tiny bit lower than trds. obviously, we're arguing about honestly a difference of less than half an inch, but trds are the most subtle drop out there for the tC (other that eibachs).
yes you will rub, b/c springs, and especially h-techs, are so bouncy.

who's "SCREAMING"? lol...no all caps here....lol
I just simply stated that I'm far from being new on the block when it comes to building cars....and that I just didn't feel it was very respectful/tactful in the words he chose is all... there's no fire..lol

Mouse, dont get your panties all in a wad dude. i didnt make any remarks about you now did i? i said i only questioned the validation of your comment about springs being lower . i didnt call you an idiot or the like. every thread ive read, or car ive seen at shows htechs have sat considerably lower than TRDs, and i said you couldve easily just been mistaken or made a typo. no hard feelings here.
im going to run the konis a little tight up front hopefully compensate for the spring rate a little
stech vs htech
