your ENTIRE car runs on your wheels / tire.... do you really want to sacrifice your baby on 1000 dollars? i sure as hell wouldn't.

my wheels cost me $600, and $200 for tires.
another set cost me $400 for wheels, and $200 for tires,
I got a set of Scion wheels for $125 and tires were $150

whats your point? just because wheels cost a lot does not mean they will not fail. In a high speed crash ALL wheels will act the same....they bend and break.

yeah it's not like he has a turbo or anything that he will need a super performance tire or a strong wheel to handle the power. Not like he is gonna be racing and subjecting the tires/wheels to harsh conditions just as racing through sharp turns.

Not everybody on SL needs to spend $2,000 on a set of wheels and tires. In fact most people prolly don't spend over $800 for wheels and tires.

looking to purchase

im looking at getting either:

17x7 with a 1.75" lip + 40 offset
or
18x8.5 with a 3" lip +35 offset

they will be on a daily driver and the car is dropped on hotchkis springs

Questions:
will i rub with 18.5"s ?
will i feel slower?
what tire size should i need for 18x8.5?
do you think they match?

LET THE SL EXPERT ADVICE BEGIN

you should have no rubbing issues with the 18's.

I think they match just fine

tire maybe a 225 35 18 at least

you won't feel slower really. At least i never did with my 18's.

i would go with a 225/40/18

I am on a 225/45 with my 17"s and i never rub and i basically have the same drop as u if not a tiny bit more. The 40 will maybe compensate for the extra wheel diameter.

225/40/18 on mine...no rubbing at all even under hard turns and bumps. Here are more pics if you wanna compare the paint match:

you're also running a very large aspect ratio. i would never trust a low profile tire on these wheels, mostly after the horror stories i've heard.

oh plus they're ugly

maybe for 15's but not for 18-19's

2k for 18's is reasonable.... i don't recommend anything i wouldn't put on my car and pos wheels is not one of them.
