my tire failed :( Warranty?
well i go out tonight to get in my car and drive and i noticed that my front passengers side tire is completely flat... i took the wheel off and inspected it and it seems that the tire failed between the rim and that curb lip thing of the tire. there is about a one inch across opening. now i haven't hit any pot holes and i find it hard to believe that something could have gotten stuck in that little space to cause a puncture like that. there is not even a hint of damage on the rim at all that would suggest i hit something. could it be that my tire just failed on its own? i only have 2k on the car so would something like that be covered in warranty if it was found to be faulty?
thanks
btw who's the idiot that decided to paint the spare tan?? ugg lame

Hey, keeps people from running for weeks on the spare :D And wait till you see it in the light.. it is really more of a mustard color!
You can have it looked at. If it actually just split, then it may fall under the tire warranty. But it could have been sliced by something else as well

There is a Yokohama handout in your glove box or in your cars information book. I'm pretty sure that it would fall under tire factory defect and such. If you can call the dealer and see what they can do about it. They carry the factory S32a's and I think you might be able to go trough them. DO NOT buy tires from them though; since those tires are in very limited production (only for Tc's and few other cars) the tires are VERY expensive...

If for some reason they don't want to cover it or replace it, which they completly should. _____ and complain, _____ and complain. If they still won't fix it and they give you a good reason why go to discount and just buy some Falken 512's. They are a very similar tire and will be much, much cheaper.

If you really need all seasons and have to go out and buy them, get Avons TECH M550's. 3 times better than the stockers you are running and run $100 a pop. But, if you do that you need to at least buy two, preferably all 4. So probably not much help for you. All of the stock tires for the tC are priced about 3 times what they are worth. They are mediocre to poor at best and cost more than very good tires.

This happened to me on another car.. The dealer might be nice & replace it free.. They may tell that this is the manufacturer's responsibility, as they did to me.
In that case, U foot the bill with the tire, send the receipt & complaint letter about the failure to the manufacturer; & they should write U a refund ck.
