need advice with my rim problems
I got nice 19' rims from edgeracing.com. They came with toyo proxes 4 tires, and everything seemed to be in good shape, until I drove it out of the installers lot and my passenger rear tire went flat. I took it right back to the installer and he looked at it, and showed me that whoever mounted the tire before it was shipped took a chip out of the beading on the inside tire, so since the other tires were in good shape and mounted he sealed with with some tire sealer and that seemed to fix it right up. Today after I got back from my vacation (the car was left at home) the same tire went out on the freeway. Edgeracing said that I voided my warranty by having the sealant put on, even though it only lasted for a day and it was STILL THEIR FAULT that the beading on the tire was bad in the first place. So right now my car is at the installers lot again so I can get my stocks put back on until I figure out what to do to get this tire replaced. I now understand I should have just took all the tires off again and waited to replace it the first time, but the installer thought it would work just fine with the sealant (he said hed seen chips much bigger and no air loss whatsoever before). So I have to call tomorrow and try to get it straightened out with edge racing so I dont have to buy a new tire. Business hours arent until the morning and there isnt any warranty info on their website- So im asking here to see if anyone else had something similar happen to them or what I could say to them to make sure I get it replaced-even with the sealant being put on. (its only been 1 week since I received the order to start with). Im just nervous and need your guys' help for the phone conversation tomorrow to put up my fight with them. Thanks a lot

Unfortunately for you, edgeracing is correct. You should have notified them immediately and just had the stocks put back on in the meantime and wait for them to replace it. Once ur shop put that sealant on...it voided their warranty because now YOU can't prove that what ur shop did, didn't cause the tire to go flat...ur just gonna have to get one more rim and tire to replace it...

Yeah I figured i F'ed it up by having the sealant put on afterwards, just wasnt thinking in the moment when I first got it done. Luckily I only have to eat $149 (weird bc when one of my stocks blew, it cost $200 and some change). Im ordering a new tire now and hopefully it all works out-- does anyone know if there is a company or anyone who would give me any money for the tire with the broken beading? Its a brand new perfect condition besides the small chip in the beading- I wasnt sure if theres anyway I can salvage it to maybe get a little back towards the new tire. Thanks guys
