Question Need Opinions...New Rims + Tires!!

Hi Everyone,
I looking to get new tires and rims for my black '06 scion tc. I dont know much about tires but i live in Houston, tx and the weather here is usually sunny/rainy but no snow...My tc is my daily driver so i need some tires that can last me through that. As far as rims go, i was thinking something like this:Need Opinions...New Rims + Tires!!-enkei_em5_black.jpg
i like the contrast of the black w/ the machined lip..i wish i had photoshop to try different things out, but what do u guys think?
Oh and a guy from a shop sells me these for $750 new + tires:Need Opinions...New Rims + Tires!!-showimage.jpg Dont know much about Forte brand but
What do yall think??

I would personally save up some extra $$$ and shop around the classified ads here. You can get some pretty nice wheels in great condition for cheap. Also check out NASIOC.com and VWvortex.com (make sure the bolt pattern is 5x100 btw) for some good deals on some nice wheels.

I would also shop around a bit more either way.

As for tires - do research and read reviews to get an idea of what fits you best. If you don't care much about comfort and road noise then a generic tire brand would be perfect for you. However, I'd rather spend the extra money and get the tire and wheel I really want and be happy then get something that i'll be "satisfied" with.

That reasoning is also the reason I may or may not even buy aftermarket wheels lol

anyway hope that helped some.

btw..either of those rims would look horrible on a tC..there are much cleaner and better looking examples of wheels that are black with a machined/polished lip..check the aftermarket wheel thread and the color threads.

Never heard of Forte, so I assume it's cheap. You can do a LOT better for $750. Stick with decent brands, it'll save you money in the long run and look nicer too.

If there are lots of potholes you need even higher quality wheels...but they tend to be pricey. Volk, Work, BBS, Advan, etc are all great but you're going to be spending a lot more. However it is worth it in the end.

since you have RPF1s, just replace the one that cracked. those are nice wheels.
