Well the ones he's talking about might not be Chinese, but these ones I posted about are:

BTW, the Chinese "Landwind" SUV by the same company that made the sedan that failed independent crash testing also failed:

They would be laughed out of the US for test results like that, I think. They're trying to get started in Europe right now. Though one of the few dealers already dropped them b/c of the crash test results of the sedan.

Glad that the Europeans are telling them to take their substandard vehicles and keep them!
Also happy they'd be laughed out of this country! I've seen some bad crashes (cavalier comes to mind), but that pales in comparison to this.. it's like it's made out of newspaper!

The best part was that they said afterwards that it wouldn't hurt sales...

Here's a short video of the SUV crash test - and some from the sedan, too...

To say "non-survivable" is putting it mildly...

It is possible for companies to make parts of the tires in a place and finish it in another. QingDao is known for two things, beer and tire. I won't be suprised if Nexen licenses a company to make parts of their tires there.

As with many companies, they could very well make products both at home and abroad.
Thing is, stating that Nexen tires "...are made in Korea, not China or Japan." is incorrect by the information on the Nexen site. They do make AT LEAST SOME of their tires in China at their subsidiary there.
Some Kikoman soy sauce says made in Walworth, WI even though some is made in Japan. I have two Sanyo SCP4900 cellphones, one is made in Japan, one in China. You and your friend's Nexen tires may be made in Korea, others are made in China.
Just don't say NONE are made in China.
Some of those made in China are currently being recalled because they took manufacturing shortcuts that compromised their safety, then sold a half million of 'em here.
(Does that mean they put their name on crap and vouched for it with their company's reputation? Yes.)

MBAs are also responsible for having 6-7 lanes open at places like Wal-Mart and never opening the other 23 (so, what's the point of having them anyway?), since they're too cheap to hire additional staff. The customer doesn't matter, because if they lose one, they'll gain 5 others.
That worker in China doesn't matter. If he/she falls into a machine, its no trouble, because there's a 10 year old boy along with his family and 200 others standing outside looking for work every morning.
All that matters is that we're able to get our Hanes underwear for $1 cheaper
