so i've been looking for tires for my rs1 wheels, and i have narrowed down to this, they're preety much the same price, average driver here, just looking for some quiet and reliable tires, thanks

I've owned both and the Neo Gens are quieter, but the 512s will last longer. both are wannabe performance tires. theyre available in performance tire sizes and tread patterns, but made with economy tire rubber compound. so they look fast, but have no grip LOL.

the thing i liked alot about the Neo Gens is they are not directional, which means you can rotate the wheels around to any side of the car. the 512s are directional, so they can only stay on the same side of the car (driver or passenger).

mileage is more important to me than performance and noise, so i stuck with the 512s.

anyone who has/had falken 512 pls read and answer:

i bought my car with the 512's on the wheels.. then i had to change it so i bought falken 452's.... they didnt last long and i had to buy new wheels... and wanted to stay with falkens because so far im really happy with falken... so i got 512s again because they were cheap... but now i got annoying noise when i break ( i can here it only when i depress the clutch so the loud exhaust will stop making any loud "music") so when im braking and depress the clutch i hear a some kind of buzzing sound.. as i slow the sound slows down.....

its sounds like: woom woom woom wooooooooom woooooooooooooom woooooooooooooooooooooooooooom. and i stopped.. i can even feel it in my leg ( while pressing the brakepedal) i tought the axle or wheel hub is bad.. so i took the car to the dealership and they said everything is fine my tires making the noise.. iw as like WTF?

i had these tires and i cant remember of any annoying loud buzzing noise.. so everyone.. do you guys have that noise???

voted for 512 but never had any other tire.. so................................. if u want cheap tires then go with 512.. if u have money buy those expensive performance BFG's....

the 512 are noisy. they sound like worn wheel bearing. the noise is really bad on my wife's mazda3. maybe youre tires need rebalancing

I had nittos for a while .. they have good grip on dry surface with very little wheel spin on launches.
good performance in wet and snow. . .
very little noise..

plus their asymmetrical tread pattern is supposed to reduce wear on lowered cars

I think nittos are the best tires for price.

wth? I've owned a set of 512's before on my old 240, size was, 215/45/17 and I had no noise. My friend has them on his civic for over a year now in 205/16/45, with no noise, and my other friend has them on his 240 coupe on the stock wheels in 195/60/15 with no noise whatsoever. I dunno whats wrong with ya'lls tires.

thanks for the input guys, yeah i read some reviews on the falkens and some people say they get noisy after a while, i'm leaning towards the nittos now

im using the nittos right now. i love them. though i must say the wear is faster than you'd think. then again thats all on your driving.

I vote for nitto's and love them. Very quiet and smooth. Not much rain here in socal so grip has always been pretty good

i werk at discount tire...nittos are better for summer but you can use the falkens all year around...althou the nittos say they are all seasons, dont try driving them in the snow cuz you wont be able to stop and ull slide like hell

Your in NJ, where it snows + ice is possible in winter time .. do you want a winter tire on there ???

Or, are you looking for a All-season tire(a 1/2 decent choice, but really doesn't excell in either winter/ or summer months).

Or a dry(spring-summer-into Fall) tire.

I hear the 512 tire isn't so good. What about a Falken Azenis ST115, Falken Ziex ZE-912 (about same price as the 512's) ?

the 512's are a good tire, not great...and they;re cheap. I used them for one summer and i dont have anythoing bad to say about them...but i wouldnt use falkens again unless it was for a extreme performance tire like the re090

Well i have decided to get the nittos at the end of january im not to good with tire sizes and what not.. but can you change tire size some on stock tires 215/45ZR-17 thats the size it recommends but can you go bigger? or just stay with the orginal size?
