We get it... some people think they're cheap or crappy wheels. Other people have no problem with them. But if this thread is to remain open, people need to get that straight.

since Rotas seem to be getting pretty popular (especially with agressive fitments and such) maybe we should make this just a general post your rotas thread? As well as people posting there specs (rim size, offset, tire specs, rolled/flared fenders, etc..)? just a thought

Then why do I see so many 17x7 ... 17x8 18x7.5... whatever Work Emotion, SSR, BBS, Volk, whatever other brand name wheels? Seems like people are sacrificing brand for fitment.

I don't think a lot of people realize you could find someone to do a custom size for you..most companies will do it..it might cost a little more and take longer but in the end it's worth it to get EXACTLY what you want.
And some people probably just don't care about the fitment as much as the wheel itself. Not everybody here wants some crazy aggressive fitment..they just want nice quality, clean looking wheels.

so ya we sacrifice fitment for brand because its worth it.
fwiw i'd rather have 17x7 bbs wheels then the most aggressive set of rotas.
but besides the point i dont mind the look of the Grids i just wish the build process was better and less weak.
also i have had 18x7.5 Volks, 18x8 Volks and 19x8.5 SSR wheels and not one set did i regret having, the only set of wheels i regret getting was my 17x7.5 Konig Feathers (which i only had for 10MILES)

The reason I have the size that I do is because I prefer function over form. Sure, I would've liked a better offset, but the wheels were originally for Subies, but we happen to share the same PCD. I got them at such a good price, I couldn't possibly pass them up.

Sorry, I just see no point to what you're saying... I'll take a smaller, lighter wheel ANY day over anything else that you think has "better" fitment.

who cares what you paid for em or what brand they are... if they look good rock em
more expensive wheels do tend to be more appealing to the masses but if your into that hella flush look or having an aggressive stance having a nice looking wheel doesnt always cut it. if you have the right fitment you can make $1,000 wheels look like you paid 5g's for em. If everyone thought Rota Grids were SSR's or HRE's everyone would love em. Just appreciate what looks good and who cares about the price.
but i gotta say...your pretty ballin if you have expensive wheels that give you an aggressive fitment.

My first set of wheels were SSRs. The offset/fitment was on the weaker side. I got them because I loved the design. Second set, Tenzos. Again, I really dig the design of the wheels. The more agressive offset and fitment is just a bonus.

Unfortunately the easiest 10 inch wide wheels for me to find were Rotas. Don't get me wrong brand name wheels are awesome, bit they'd be even more awesome if they were wide and aggressive.

LOL you act like high end wheels are all conservative.
look at skions ride, or blktc, or tcrollins, unit_xero or better yet, go through the Post Your High End wheels thread theres a good amount there
