Default Problems with warranty repairs on Axis Wheels

Long story short:
- Bought brand new Axis Finish wheels on internet about 8 months ago.
- Within with first two months, the clearcoat began peeling on several of them.

I emailed Axis and they said they have a 1 year warranty. But as soon as I said "Good, because I have some that need warranty work done" they disappeared and stopped responding to emails.
For proof I have Paypal receipt, emails from the seller detailing the rims bought and their new condition, and Fedex tracking numbers stating date/weight/ and number of items.

Any advice on how I can Axis to warranty the wheels like they should?

Called them.

Person I spoke to said they'd contact their own rep I'd been emailing to see what the progress was on getting this taken care of. I'll post more once they call back.

Not Used.
Not purchased through Ebay.

Bought Brand spanking new in original boxes with elastic fabric wheel covers and everything. And the peel isnt minimal, its affecting 3 of 4 wheels with patches missing .5" to an inch in diameter. This happened in the first couple months. The wheels have been in storage since winter began as well.

But they are being a pain even though I have much proof of their age and condition when purchased. Still trying to work out something with them.

Looks like I'm SOL here.

The person I bought them through was recommended by a friend and apparently he works closely with Axis. I bought them from him over the phone, and paid paypal.

Darren at Axis apparently knows him, and has been much help attempting to get in touch with Wilber, the seller. I've tried calling his phone number (recorded service provider error message), his email address listed with Paypal, and through the "ask seller a question" option from his current ebay auctions. No response back.

His eBay id is WILBERJIA. So if you happen to buy anything from this guy, know once the sale is done youre screwed for any sort of problem down the road.

I'd love to find out that he actually was an employee of Axis that wholesales their discontinuted models, but I cannot find any sort of Axis Employee Listing online. If that was the case they'd have to warranty my rims.

Eh, live and learn and loose a couple hundred at the paint shop.

Another lesson learned here is to never buy clear coated rims

An aluminum wheel without a clearcoat needs more attention than an ADHD kid hopped up on pixie sticks in a lightbulb factory.

Already been down that road, I swear I kept Mother's Aluminum polish in business just trying to keep them from oxidizing.

Not Used.
Not purchased through Ebay.
Well now...it does appear the Axis rims were bought on Ebay or at least from an Ebay seller and the money you saved by buying from some fly by night seller on Ebay instead of a reputable company will now cost you at the paint shop.

I am very sorry to hear you got screwed and I hope everyone who reads this post can learn from your misfortune.

Yes, from a guy who happens to sell on eBay but NOT through an ebay auction. On the plus side, even though i need to pay for a new clearcoat its still cheaper than if I'd bought them through a local shop.

^^^ True, but what is your time and the aggrevation which this has caused you worth?
I bought my Axis decades from Wheel Warehouse in Anaheim, California which I know is not in your neck of the woods so obviously you wouldn't buy from there but I got a very good deal on my rims & tires from them. In addition they warranty the rims and do my tire rotations for free for as long as I own the car. This is a true value as with the decades with the maxis lip in the rear, the front rims cannot be rotated to the back so they have to break the tires off the rims for every rotation and like I said this free of charge.

Ahh, yes I have similar perks from my local tire shop (Big Bear in Oconomowoc). Rotations, balance, tire warranty and all that. Marty runs a great shop and has a staff just shy of a nascar pit crew. Got my Falkin's for a great deal, but if i'd wanted 19" wheels from there it'd have been ALOT more than the $600 I paid for new in the box wheels. + clear coat at $100-200 from a local paint shop, I guess I cannot whine too much ;)
