I think 205 would be best. 215 on a 8.5 ain't gonna stretch enough for you to slam it in the rear.

This thread is the most bizzaro world fad thing I've ever seen or heard of and it can't be safe. Stretching skinnier tires onto wider rims with high offsets just to get an extreme tuck look???

Tire roll?? Popping a bead?? Rim damage?? You Scion boys are crazy?!?!? Leave this to the VW/Audi crowd.

low offset wheels, not high

tucking is passé for vw's. they moved on to poke (wheels so wide its hard to tuck them. rather let them "poke" out past the fender. best done with 10"+ wide wheels)

what makes VW/Audi cars so much more capable than our cars of doing stuff like stretching tires and tucking?

just because they've done it long before us? Our cars just barely came out and something new has been tried on our cars every day.

and x2 to what won had to say..

there's a big debate in the Evo and WRX community about low offset wheels and stretched tires. some argue that set up is worth the decrease in performance since it looks nice. others argue these cars are so performance engineered, that low offsets and stretching doesnt belong. this reminds me of the debate between truck owners: some say trucks should be modified for off-road driving, while others like them slammed for strictly street cruising.

unlike evo and sti owners, most vw guys favor looks over hard-core performance. my old VW buddy said it best back when the Neon SRT4 first came out, "I'd rather drive a slow-**** dub, than a fast-**** Neon"

also, VW's come with wider fenders than any other fwd sold in america. so they can be very aggressive with wheel fitment. hondas and mazdas are the opposite.
