Rims and price?

Rims and price?
I was just wondering why some rims are priced at a $200-300 range while others are priced at 1000+. They look the same from the outside but yet what can make that $800 difference? I know the material might be better and also the brand name will up the ante as well. But is that about it? I mean at the end of the day, glossy black rims are just glossy black rims right?

What is the avg. amount people pay for glossy black 18's?

the reason there is such a price difference is because of the material the rim is made out of, the weight of the rims, the brand, the quality and if its a 1, 2 or 3 piece rim. for 18" rims you can pay a couple hundred to like 2 thousand. my rims cost a lil over 2 thousand with tires. i got gold volks and i love them. i'm a rough driver and these rims can handle my driving style.

If you are comparing ADR to some random brand, most of the time it does not make any difference. 99% of the time both are knockoffs off some expensive Japanese wheel and the quality is not that good on both. Now if you compare ADR to Work or Volk, that is where the difference really stands out. Weight, quality (yes, you can see it from first glance), material strength, custom offset, 1/2/3 piece designs, and of course, the name.
In the end, if you buying knokoffs, get whatever is cheaper and looks better to you. However your scion will have same rims everybody else is buying. Migh as well keep stock wheels.
