Those are the people who actually can't afford the Volks.
hahahahaha are you serious? is that really your argument?

did you not see the links i posted above?

Ok I saw a bunch of near stock Subi's with downgraded wheels that were poorly fit (especially the blue one, omfg that looked terrible). It's just a bunch of ricers who got their hands on a Subi. Take the last one for example, the one with 10 sets of wheels. That car progressively got worse and worse over time, after the Gram Lights.

There is no point arguing with you, because you think that the Subaru crowd is the know-all, and since a few of those guys run Rota's, they're amazing. This just in, they're not. Just like the Scion crowd, they're are only a few who actually know what they're doing. Most of them just throw an exhaust and wheels on a WRX and people praise them.

I sarcastically said to MrC from PTuning that they should get a set of Rotas to replace the Advan's and he just started to laugh.

When it comes down to the few who know what they're doing, they'll all say the same, knock-offs are a complete waste of time and money.

Personally, I think spending $10,000 on rims is stupid, and I think buying Rota's is even worse. Just stick to the damn stockers.

hahahahaha i just remembered...
when i went to formula drift like last month or whatever...me and my buddy were walking towards the pits to check out the cars.... and from far away i joked about wishing i could have some rotas like they did(thinking they'd run advans or what not)....and when we got closer....LMAO they were Rotas hahahahaha and it wasnt just one car running them either

lol im not arguing dude....im just trying to converse on a really "touchy"(if you wanna call it that) topic.... and no i dont think the suby crowd knows it all and no i dont praise them in any way...the same way i dont think the honda, scion, nissan, etc crowd know it all...i think all decisions we make should be out of common sense....
again...im not arguing with you. but the argument you tried to make is that the suby owners that said they wouldnt use the volks on the track, were the ones that couldnt afford them....yet thats not the case...

I know it's just a figure of speech and you were trying to make a point, but tC owners aren't spending $10,000 on wheels. And you don't even need to spend that much. Most baller wheel owners on SL only dished out $2,000-$3,000.

Also, it's not the fact that we're trying to compensate for anything. If you're going to change something your whole car rides on, why would you get something of lesser value and quality than what came with the car from the factory? Personally, I feel it's a safety issue and that's why I bought my "baller" wheels. Sure, more expensive wheels CAN bend or break, but the chance of that happening is much less than if I was rolling on Tenzos, Rotas, Sportmax, ect.

woot

i definitely like the ssr type f's but they got for 700 a wheel + tire

works seem to be a good option for wheels, usually go for 350 a wheel for 18x8's which isn't bad for a decent company.

Gram Lights, Work Emotion, G-Games, and the Enkei Racing line are all fantastic wheels at affordable prices. I highly recommend them.

yea i totally understand what your sayin and your logic behind it...i guess the way i see it is like how i stated above; if it came down to safety/quality or what not my common sense is tellin me "hey, here are these +300hp cars that running rotas without a problem....and obviously money is not an issue to some cause they can obviously afford the "baller wheels" like the Works or Advans yet also run the Rotas. So they should be alright right? "
Dont get me wrong or anything....i know the quality level of Rota isnt gonna be at the same level as WORK or ADVAN but i mean....it should atleast be saying something if theyre running them right?
....i guess thats where "to each there own" comes in right? hahaha

seems like you know something about clothing.

my cousin has a wrx and trust me he'd buy rota's any day because they look good and are ridiculously affordable. so you can think of it this way, you'd rather buy fake ed hardy joints from chinatown and people think its real because most people don't know they're ____ but some know its fake and call em' out. but if you were to wear the real thing, most of those people wouldn't call you out and the others would still sweat you

by all means, i hate ed hardy clothing.

exactly....or its like the girls that buy fake Coach purses....one girl buys the real thing at full pop yet the other girl buys 10 fake ones for the same price...

oh btw, its worse when people rock rota grids and put volk/rays stickers on them....seriously....wtf...

i mean yes i'm running stockers but i spent money elsewhere. i'm just saying, if your going to buy wheels, either rock rotas because thats what they are but don't go buy rotas and say they're volks

its like buying a tc and saying your drift king. or buying jordans and sweatin like your the freshest **** around.

doesnt work
