get the real things so you can laugh at cars with knockoffs of your wheels.

What numbers do you think will help the matter...the numbers of stories that are made up from the pics you and others have posted. It was poor taste and quick to bash something you know little about....Rota.

So you know about forged wheels...how doesn't....this is not about Forged vs Rotas....but Rotas.

And so far your rambling is nothing but that.

In my eye experience and even some commonsense is far superior then believing what you read on the net.

The only thing you have posted that made sense and I agree with is all wheel have there limitations.
And you would be silly to think that any of the pics you posted would only have a minor crack in the wheel if they were forged.

And thanks for the spelling correction...

Rotas dont just bend or exploded while just driving around or even on the track....I and many others have proven that.

Im not saying that they just break and explode i think your taking those pictures a little to literal man.....

There cheapily made rims that are more likely to bend/crack then higher end rims in particular forged rims in nebster's defense...

Cool you had 5 sets of rota's and never had a problem consider your self extremely lucky....

Ehhh I see your point a little bit but quality is quality man

almost like saying there is a ton of hondas out there so there should be a lot more coming back defective then other car brands, but thats not the case

quality is quality

ehhhh gravity casting actually isnt that bad. Alcoa, worlds number one wheel used by all transit, commercial, and industrial vehicles uses gravity casting.....

Rotas are pretty good for the price. If you're in doubt, buy some backup. They are cheap for a reason afterall.

I have a few friends that have Rota wheels. 3+ years later, no problems. Some are DJs so they constantly drive with a full load of cargo in their ride.

I'm all for Rotas because they are affordable and look pretty good (although that is subjective)..

but lets not get it twisted.. if i could afford some volks, works, advan, yadda yadda i would. Not because of the hype or the name, but like stated above, quality..

Somehow, the wheels isnt an area i want to skimp on quality.

I mean yeah, that guy had 5 sets with no problems, but it really only takes one swing of fate to make you wish you had spent the extra money..

but again.. i do believe rotas are quite attractive, but theres gotta be a reason why there are those so called "horror stories" about them.. and thats just enough for me to keep in mind and question quality..

but all in all.. its all matter of opinion..

I wouldn't rock rotas. but THE ONLY rotas I actually like a lot are Rota Grid's bc I saw sum1 on here with a 18x9.5 et39? with sum crazyy as$ concave.

but besides that I'd save up for the real deal.

There's some I know that rock Rota wheels and haven't had any issues at all. There's one that has slicks mounted for 1/4 mi drag racing his turbo Civic hatch with no issues. Then again they aren't using low profile tires on 15 or 16 inch wheels. I myself would find it difficult to have Rota wheels on my tC as I don't find any of the styles or fitments too appealing. I'd pick Sportmax over Rota as for the moment performance isn't all that important so having the lightest weight wheel is not necessary. Of course I know they all offer knock offs but if the desperation to get some 18s on my tC happens it'll likely be Sportmax/XXR 504(Fabulous knock off) on my tC. My friend has Sportmax and has driven through some bad streets, has a bend on the lip and it's still holding in air. He's still driving around like that and is riding on stretched tires lol. I'm kinda bad on trying to dodge potholes and road imperfections and as much as I want to roll on Work wheels I'd probably shed a tear if they were to get damaged or scratched. With the Sportmax/XXR if that was to happen I'd just get another wheel within the week. Going with a wheel like Work there's down time. Then again I can own both and put on the Works for shows and the 504 for daily. I'm completely aware of the wheels and quality differences and the whole you get what you pay for.

Still want Rota? http://forums.evolutionm.net/evo-x-t...ta-wheels.html

sportmax / xxr is about 100x worse than rota

they had to change their name to xxr because sportmax got such a bad rap

Moral of the story. Rota wheels are cheap, but cheap for a reason. To compare them to HRE isn't fair as they are selling to different markets. You want high quality wheels, spend the money. You want wheels that have a good chance at BREAKING (not braking), buy Rotas. You can't expect a company that sells wheels at the cost Rota does to have very high QC procedures.

i wouldn't cheap out on wheels, but it has more to do with safety than looking like a baller. i'd argue that you don't necessarily have to spend the money for forged wheels get a safe, quality wheel. my enkeis have held up very well over the past year that i've had them mounted, and i feel very safe riding on them. i couldn't say the same if i had rotas and bent a rim going over a bump or pothole.
