Default So i painted my stocks..

i painted my stocks black, and im planning to redo them (if possible) and paint it bronze. would there be anyway to remove the current coatings?

and also.. if there are some rough edges and stuff.. would sanding it down help? I didn't notice it until now.

well, if anyone has ever painted their rims.. whats a good walkthrough to successfuly have a perfect finish? thanks..

yea sanding would get the paint off, and wetsanding would be even better.

IMO...

start out with fairly rough sand paper then move your way to fine, then clean it with some alcohol or other cleaner, then dry it and start painting again.

after i get my rims with my tax returns im gonna send my rims to get powercoated bronze (they are gunmetal now)

BEFORE:

AFTER:

NO prepwork at all.. just very careful masking and lots of small and light coats.. ive painted every set of rims i have and ALWAYS and i mean ALWAYS i get the best results when i dont sand.. takes too long and you dont always get a smooth surface since you might press harder in some areas..

well.. reason i painted them army green was to be different.. im tired of seeing the same ol colors on the same ol cars.. its always black with black rims and polished lip.. black on black(which i used to have a LONG time ago) and now im starting to see black and bronze.. i like to be outta the ordinary.. i didnt do a gloss because they dont need it...

The rims are ok hawk but thy dont flow, U should either put a satin type finish on them(doesnt have to be high gloss), or paint those cener caps black...gloss black. Actually u should paint them anyway, those caps are ugly with that color. But they are still diff. and thats what matters.
