Default Somebody must know the answer to this...

I've been desperately looking for a touch up paint for 2007 OEM wheel for a while (hyper black chrome?). Anyone knows where I can source one from? I've searched around this site, but found no answer.

I have a wheel waiting for a fresh paint. Your help is greatly appreciated.

i don't think ther is touch up paint matching the wheel color.
i a silver tC and that's the touch up color i used for my stock wheels.
it's the closest you can get to.

I'd prefer if it's a spray paint... it is just frustrating that no one seems to have a paint available that matches OEM look.

Scion = Toyota ;)

I would think that at least one person must have prior experience painting TC wheels. Honestly, it doesn't have to be perfect, but at least closely matched. None of the wheel spray paint I found at auto zone came close to this unique "hyper black chrome" factory color.

how about spraying them silver streak mica as a base coat and then spray them with a tinted spray paint. the outcome come close to matching

do you have any picture of your wheel? where did you source these spray paints from? I'd prefer to use spray paint instead of touch up paint for an OEM look.

http://www.paintscratch.com has OEM colors in a spray can... they also have clear to give it the gloss look.

and tinted spray paint = VHT Niteshades.

what's SSM? silver ? metalic? is that the color that matches OEM color?

I've checked with many paint online companies and they don't sell spray paints specifically for wheels. They asked me to get in touch with body shop and have them determined paint code for the wheel.

since a can of spray cost $25 plus shipping, I am trying to see if I can source one from autozone. I will check out autozone if they have tinted spray paint.

if you go to an auto parts store thatsells the duplicolor touch up paints for oem body colors they will probably have 5-10 different shades of silver. I would just ask them if you could take a couple of the different shedes outside to match up the caps you should probably find something close (they would probably rather let you do this then returning them if they aren't right)
It looks like from your picture that you have the area taped off with masking tape. after you paint the taped off area remove the tape and try to fade the edges with the tape removed you may even practice with a piece of cardboard to determine how far away to hold the can. it will make the area stand out a lot less.
Good Luck

Unfortunately, they do not have too many choices for wheel spray paints. Majority of paints are touch up paints, which never come close in matching hyper black chrome.

I was hoping that someone must have experience painting OEM wheels.

After i reread my post i don't know if i made clear that you probably don't need paint specifically designed for wheels for a small touch up, ordinary automotive body touch up paint should work fine

silver streak mica (SSM) = 1E7
classic silver metalic (CSM) = 1F7

SSM has a darker shade than CSM.
