Stock 16" steelies w/hubcaps??
A friend of mine (girl) just bought a new tc and she was telling me how bad she needed to get new wheels because hers were so ugly. Well I happen to think the stock 17's are actually some of the cleanest factory wheels around.
I went out and looked at her car and sure as **** there were crap hubcaps with a scion logo covering 16" black steelies with some off name crap tires on it.
I went home and checked scion to try to find out if 17's were now an option, and the only option is the 18's, all the gallery pics show the 17's or 18's, not a mention or pic of the 16's.
Did she get ripped off by her dealer? I want to find out before I tell her to go back and demand the wheels that scion intended to be on her car.

yea.... cheaped, toned down version of the tC..
features taken off not worth the lower price.
but personally.. the 16" steelies ride a lot better because the tire is much more meatier.
don't people do research BEFORE getting a car?

thanks for the link.
i'll have to ask if thats what she intended to buy, sounds great for a car to strip down and race or customize on your own, other than that I'll pay the extra couple g's for a much higher resale later.

I did search, searched for steel wheels, 16" steel wheels, hubcaps and came back with nothing that gave me the answers that starting my own post did.
I always try to UTFSE to it's extent before starting a new thread.

oh.. she does realize the other features that the tC spec doesn't have right?
i don't want to hear any complaining about.. "where's my cruise control?!".. or "why isn't my moonroof opening?.. where's the switch??".. etc.. etc..

you know how the dumbed up the tc for peeps that are gonna highly mod it and what not, i realy dont understand why they did that cuz your gonna spend the same amount to mod a regualr tc know what i mean, your gonna take out the parts that are already not on the spec to put sweet aftermarket stuff
just dont understand the meaning of the spec cuz modding would be the same regardless what trim/model you buy

you do save money from the mark down they put... granted maybe a little amount.. but yeah..
and.. the fact is the spec tC has a much stronger foundation for modifications... taking those unecessary features so a tuner wouldn't have to deal with removal or trying to modify it to work..
THAT'S WHY.
