i noticed that the face of the rims is not flat like the backside is. is the face gonna mount to the barrel ok like that? what is the torque spec for the lil bolts holdin the face in. it looks great inverted btw.

oh hai benzino glad u could join the fiesta
the face is actually pretty flat. i thought about that but double checked and it should be ok. each bolt requires about 24 ft Lbs of TQ + some blue lock tight to help keep it in place. i wasnt able to start sanding yet but i should be able to get to it starting tonight.

update: 3/14/09
so today i took some time to organize a nice work area so i can work and not have my wife kill me for polishing rims in the spare bath tub LMAO! so i took over my entertainment room and turned it into a mini factory
on todays list: strip the last of the clear + 400 grit HAND wet sand the entire lip smooth from the outer ridge to the inner most tip taking away any grooves, blemishes, scratches etc etc. so after about 2 steady hours or work here is the outcome of pics
heres the work area and some of the crap i use or will be using...
my little corner in the sweat shop! (yes those are nintendo games in the corner...NINJA GAINDEN on surround sound BISH!!!!!) lol
as you can see the 400 grit has reduced the shinyness of it and created a satin finish like it was when it was previously coated with BBS's clear coat... this is normal when starting out with 400 grit and i expected to get this satin finish
and a close up... its starting to look and also feels very smooth... way better then before.. i also took out all the deep scratches it had.
what ever darkness you see is just dried up gunk from wetsanding...
all in all it was a long day and so far the progress is coming along. up next will be 800 grit west sand... thanks for watching, more updates in the next few days!
BTW this thread has had over 1,160 views in 3 days.... WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
