Default which tire?

hey i'm about to purchase a wheel and tire package from wheelsnext.com the wheels are Axis Seven Mod (Black) 18x7.5 and i want to upgrade to other tires. The tires that come with the package are nexen n7000....there are little to none reviews of this tire so i wanted to know what you guys think of the nitto neogens it would cost about $200 more but will it be worth it. I just want a reliable tire with good treadwear. oh and i actually wanted toyo proxes 4 but they said that it couldn't fit on my wheel. anyways any help would be nice thanks in advance. Oh and any people who have these wheels please tell we what you run on them. Thanks again.

what size tire do you need? the proxes 4 come in a lot of sizes. i'm surprised to hear that you cant find the proxes 4 in your size.

the base tire that comes with the axis wheels (nexen n700) is - 225/40/18 so i imagine that this is also the size for toyo proxes 4 if i wanted to put them on.

and about the toyo proxes 4....there are two the toyo proxes fz4 and the toyo proxes px4...i know one is better than the other but i can't remember which one.

ohhh before i forget i have an 07 tc so it has the tire pressure sensor. and i asked the wheelsnext rep and he said he does not gurantee that the wheels and tire will be compatible but he said that other cars who also have the tps have had no problems. so does any know if this wheel and tire will be ok? Thanks

They make the toyo proxes 4 in a 225/40-18:

http://www.1010tires.com/tire.asp?ti...es+4&pc=197080

The fz4 is not much of a performance tire I believe while the proxes 4 are a performance all-season tire. Living in Las Vegas, I dunno if you need an all-season, but the proxes 4 really are the best. If you don't need an all-season, then go with a summer tire. The Toyo proxes t1r are a great summer tire. I cant help ya with the tps - i dont know about that

Here is a link to the Proxes T1R if you are interested in a summer tire:
http://www.1010tires.com/tire.asp?ti...del=Proxes+T1R

Otherwise go for the proxes 4 - just a great tire!

well i tried to place my order at wheelsnext.com....i called them and they said that the axis seven mod (black) was discontinued so they do not have any!!!!! all this work and anticipation....anyways thanks to your links of 1010tires I decided to browse their products and found the wheels I originally wanted the Ster ST-2 Face II black...So i guess this is meant to be. I will be placing an order for the stern wheels - 18"x8.5" wrapped in Toyo Proxes 4 - 225/40/18. I still have some doubts about the site and the tire pressure monitoring sensors. so if anyone knows if these wheels are compatible with the tmps please let me know...Thanks for all the help!

that sensor goes off when the car feels a off balance in the way the car sits when rolling on all 4 tires so as long as you are balanced and all aired up the same you will be fine. ( i could be wrong but this is what i have been told) it make total since too.

right now I am going between the Nitto Neogens and the toyo proxes 4 but the site im looking at http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/home.do i only see the nittos not the toyo so i think i might just go with the nittos I am just looking for good traction, with my supercharger I am breaking loose all though out 2nd gear on stock tires.

It's because discount tire isn't an authorized dealer for Toyo tires. That's why they don't sell them.

ya, the proxes aren't available there. Not everywhere carries the toyo brand name. They are an importe tire after all. Tirerack doesn't carry em either. 1010tires.com will have em along with other places on the web that are less expensive. Otherwise, just get em from your local tire shop (especially if they will match/beat prices)
