Hello Everyone,
I recently purchased new wheels, and I am in the process of finding tires. I want something cheap, and it appears that Nexen tires are. I have seen threads like this that say that Nexen tires are good. And then I see threads like this that say Nexen Tires are bad.
For $280.69 I can get four seeminly decent tires...Link
But for $392.00 I can get these
Is there anymore personal experience with tires from people? I really would like to know as much as possible.

The wheels would be summer only, the only reason they would go in the "winter" months would be if an emergency happened when I was at a show and had to drive back to school on them. Otherwise I would like to be rollin in the stockies

It's tough to find people that have had first hand experience with these "off-brand" types of tires. I recently bought a blowout package that came with Wanli tires and considered just using them to save some money. But after talking to a few folks on here and searching google, I found that Wanlis are not so good from people who have used them. I've read that the grip is ok, but they're also kinda noisy. I decided to go with some Falken 912s (they run about $400 shipped). If you can afford paying a little more for wheels then definitly make the investment. Best of luck!

225/40-18 go with the Nitto NT555 if it is going to be a summer only tire. I did and I don't regret it. The cost for the performance is awesome. I've heard good about General Exclaim UHP also.

Just to let you know.. NITTO is owned by Toyo, so you're getting a similar tire, just marketed to a different group.
I'd say go with the Toyo Proxes4. Depends, do you want a summer only tire (temps above 32 degrees) or an all-season ultra high performance tire (for any temps)??

and why are you buying tires on ebay and facebook?? That's really scary, your tires are the ONLY thing keeping your car level and on the ground! As opposed to flipping or blowing out.
So where do you go if one of the tires needs to be replaced or is defective (yeah happens on all brands of tires)??

I have Wanli tires on my stockies and they are not my favorite ones. They are so dang loud! Just like the other guy said, the grip on them is o.k.; but I will go with the Toyo Proxes for my summer tires.

No offense but I don't think a tire that last a long time and isn't grippy is very good for any kind of spirited driving. Now if all you do is sit in traffic or drive on the highway then by all means get a tire rated for 60k miles. I wouldn't run a summer only tire in anything much below 45 degrees. It really depends on the tire for that 32 to 45degree range on how it is going to behave. My old Yoko's would give up below 50 on cold pavement if they weren't warmed up.

yeah the xb is pretty much just a daily driver not a racecar and it doesnt snow here so id take the longer lasting over the more grippy... i mean the wanlis are grippy enough
wanlis are loud tho
