Again....it detects a difference in rotation speed in one tire vs. the others. it doesn't give a rat's "you know what" about the pressure in the tires (wudda ya think it's a lexus...j/k).

it merely detects a difference in pressure between the four. it's looking for a flat.

inflate them to whatever you're comfortable with but make sure you fill them within 4 psi of each other to be safe. (same in front two, same in rear two) then hold button in gb til light goes out and drive for an hour or so.

the actual tire pressure doesn't have much to do with the light, tCs have a PASSIVE TPS that uses the ABS/wheelspin sensors and if one of the tires spins more or less than the rest, that's when the light comes on. and yes, it usually takes about 10+ mi of steady driving for the computer to catch a leak. but the manual says if everything is fine and the light comes on, just take it to a dealer.

i had the same problem where my PSI was correct but i was reseting the meter the incorrect way.

http://home.cfl.rr.com/icdedppl/faq.html#c15

1. Turn key to the "On" position.
2. Press and hold the Tire pressure reset untill the light disappears.
3. Press and hold the tire pressure light again untill it blinks 3 times
4. Initialization is *not* completed until driving at the vehicle speed of 19 mph or over for more than one hour. the tire pressure monitoring starts when initialization is completed.

Hope that helps you guys out

Maybe I should try that. My tire pressure light keeps coming on too. I went to Shell and pumped up my tires twice already...I think the pressure for each tire is different now. I'm going to take it to the dealer tomorrow so they can adjust the pressure correctly for all the wheels. I may have pumped different amounts of air into each of the tires.

Hey, do I just take it to the dealership or do I have to make an appointment?

just follow the directions in your owners manual for the tire pressure warning light reset.

theres also a way to reset/recalibrate the ecu by using the odometer **** (also resets you "maintainance required" light after oil change")

I seriously hope that's a joke. if not, then reach in your pocket and take out your keys, find the big fat gray one with the buttons on it, and drop it in a padded envelope. I'll pm you my address, because you don't deserve to own a car.

When you buy something at autozone there's usually a jar full of them up front.. They're like 75cents each.

but don't go in asking for a "psi checker" or they'll laugh at you too! say it with me now: tire...pressure...guage.

seriously. SOrry man. But that was pretty hilarious. I love Getcaughtdead's quote about mailing in the key. haha, thats pretty close to accurate.

Take this time sitting in front of your computer to google info about cars/mechanics/engineering/etc.. It will help you out a lot.

hey man would you happen to know the steps? My gf is bugging me to get those damn lights off and I tried to browse through the manual but didn't find anything. I'll go over again but just wanted to see if anyone here would know right away.

About to put a new set of rims/tires on my 07. (monitors INSIDE the tires). I bought a winter wheel/tire pgk from tire rack without the monitors.

Besides just ignoring the light.... and covering it over with a small piece of tape... is there a way to reset it NOT to come on? I doubt it, but figured i'd ask anyhow

I've been to discound tire and even the freakin dealer to get this fixed and it just wont go away, keeps coming back within minutes of reset. I guess it's just one of those absurdly annoying lights that wont go away like the abs light was in my integra.

omg....

FIX: See the little tire reset button in your glove compartment? it will be your best friend.

With TPM Lite on:

-push reset button in until the TPM Light flashes and goes off.
-release button for 1 second, then push it back in and continue to hold for about 10 seconds (just to be safe).
-release button

your done. TPM Light shouldn't come on anymore untill u reset ecu (disconnect battery) or push the button again to reactivate.

i used to have the same recurring issue, this seems to have worked for me.
