Default Tire Pressure Sensor Question (Not A Repeat)

I know this has been posted over and over again which makes it hard to search in old posts to find the answer to my question.... Is there anyone out there that has some computer cheat codes to override certain features??

I know there is one out there to get ride of that annoying seat-belt beep, but does anyone know a code to de-activate the TPWS so that we dont have to deal with that amber warning light while the winter rims are on?

I'd go talk to the dealer to find out but we dont have any dealerships here in Canada yet, plus I'm sure there are a bunch of you out there that would benefit from that info!!!!

Cheers

Electrical tape over the light works really well.

Us 05 owners don't have to worry about that though.

^^That would be the most obvious way, but it sounds like he wants to avoid dismounting and remounting tires.

Yeah, its just a pint in the ___ to get it transfered over and new ones are way too expensive! I only have the steel winter rims on for 4 months, so...

I can deal with the light, thats just a minor inconvenience.... I was really trying to get something started on getting those programming codes out there so that we can activate or deactivate features without the trip to the dealer.

yeah i understand and wish i had all the codes, but 2007 + vehicles sold in the US are required to have a TPMS so i doubt toyota gave the disable option...but im surprised the seatbelt one was out there so there may be hope.

Don't know about you, but my rims (with the sensors) sit in my garage. And when I park my tC in the garage, the car picks up the signal from the sensors. The light shuts off whenever the car is in the garage, even when it's just outide the garage.

The light usually stays off even while I drive the car, and usually only comes on if I've driven the car more than an hour away from home. I'm not usually driving the car for more than an hour in most cases (time while the car is sittng at my destination doesn't count), so it's not usually a major issue.

Hope that helps...

thats how i used to do it,

then i got an extra pair of sensors, and planned on putting them on my new wheels. NTB broke both sensor sets, and wont pay for em, so now I'm outta tpms sensors....

You either live with the light, tape it over, or desolder it.

On another note, anyone wanna sell me 4 tpms sensors for cheap?

Yeah thanks man, if it is a requirement by state law or whatever then your probably right. You never know like you said seat belts are required but we are able to turn off its warning, which in my mind would be a worse warning to have fail on you. I wouldn't rule it out, and ill keep you posted if I ever find it.

PS. my msg was supposed to say pain in the butt not "pint" Haha

Yeah that funny I didnt even think of that.... for 4 days I had my Scion wheels still in the car, and it wasnt till I put them in storage that I got the warning light.

Its actually illegal to knowingly deavticate the tpms system. Well for a dealer or tire shop to do that. Best way I head is stick them all in a spare or something that can hold 32 psi and stick it in the trunk... oh btw SEARCH!

I wasnt asking for generic help with my TPSW, I was indirectly trying to get some cheat codes going so that we can all benifit from them. Why is everybody so quick to jump all over people with "SEARCH"...

I agree that if someone comes on and doesnt bother to run even an initial search then blast away, but before you do why dont you run the search yourself and see how quickly you come up with an answer!! Its not always that easy

Afterall isnt the purpose here to be helping each other out since we all have one definate thing in common (Our Rides)

Yeah I saw on the news you guys got hit hard with snow!

It shouldnt been too much longer here either, I would say March 1 will begin the winter clean up process.
I'll be happy to get all that FN sand off the roads, the front of my car got pepper'd this year.
