tire wear
hi guys. i'm nearing 16k on my tC at the moment and i had a question to ask about tire wear. does anyone know how long the stock Bridgestone Potenza's would last under normal driving circumstances on city streets? a lot of people tell me that on average, tires last for a good 20k and afterwards they should be replaced. also, if i were to replace my tires, i was considering getting Dunlop DZ101's. has anyone every used these tires before and if so what was your opinon? Remembere people, i'm not asking for a suggestion on wheels, i'm asking for an opinion on a specific brand and model.

Tire wear (and replacement) is highly depndant on the tire tread wear rating and also your driving habits/conditions.
I use my 2007 tC for my consulting business and have 25K miles on it already. The stock tires still have plenty of tread left and are wearing well. These miles are almost exclusively highway miles. I expect I'll get somewhere between 35 - 40K miles before they need to be replaced.
That said, even if you don't put a lot of miles on your tires they may need to be replaced if they are getting old. Rubber hardens over time and eventually the tires will begin to show cracks, usually in the sidewall. Typically you'll see this on your collector cars (I had to replace my tires on my 911 even though they only had a few thousand miles because they were starting to age) or any car that sits for a while, whether it's driven or not.
Typically if your tires are within 2-3 years old and are not down to the wear bars on the tread, they are fine and wouldn't need to be replaced.
That said, the key to even tire wear is keeping them properly inflated. You should check your tire pressure when they are cold (in the morning in the garage before you drive anywhere is a perfect time) and they should be inflated within the range indicated on the tire itself.

if u put a penny inbetween the tread on your tire and can see the top of lincolns head thats when you should be replacing your tires. and when u do this i mean putting rotating lincolns head so the face of it is closer to the tire
