Default Very unfortunate story: Flat tire caused by car wash?

So firstly, this is my first post. I am new to this board and look forward to some good reading about one of the best cars on the market.

Anyway, here's my brief story:

I went to the car wash (the kind with the track that you drive into and it pushes your car through the wash). I got to the part where you first meet the track, and the worker that points you in the right direction was leading me in. For about 3 seconds his co-worker steals his attention from my car, and in that time frame BAM i hit the track on the left side. Its not that bad, I see people hit it all the time. Well I move in more and they start the car wash cycle. I see the first worker stop the machine and bend down to my front left tire. He gets the attention of the other employees and stays crouched down. The manager comes to my car and says "I am sorry, but it looks like your have a flat and we need to get your car out of the wash before it gets damaged." So he decides the best way to do it is to go backwards, aka over the wheels that push your car. I'm like "whatever, if thats what you are making me do, then this is on your heads not mine". So I get out and park the car. I come to find out that when my tire hit the rail it sliced the tire valve in half. So instantly air came gushing out and is why I got the flat so fast. There was no damage to the tire, which was good, but now I have to take it into the shop to fix the nossle. The good news is the car wash place is willing to fix any damages, but my rim got fairly scratched up in the process. So...

What is the best way to get scratches out of a wheel?
Has anything like this happened to you before?

Since stock wheels are so cheap around these places i suggest you buy a new stock wheel with tire. that should be cheaper than buying a new tire and having your old rim refinished.
My second suggestion is that you don't go through automatic car washes if you don't have time don't wash it lol. my third suggestion is stop thinking the tC is the best car on the market, it is by far not.

That's their own opinion, aren't they entitled to their own opinion? Why are you always so negative?

If you would have taken the time to read, you would have noticed the following...

He says it's 'one' of the best cars on the market. Not THE best car. But I do agree about replacing
the rim. And make the car wash company pay for it. It was their nimrod employee who screwed up.

Why not make the place buy you a wheel? It's the employee's JOB to make sure you're going in there correctly.

Just be glad you don't have aftermarket wheels on there. Just leave the stocky scraped. You know you want to replace them some day anyway.

Default Car wash?

Do you guys wash your own cars? I always like to but I don't always have the time. And it gets hot, here in TX.

The car wash place it happened at is pretty good. I have never had any problems. They have a good deal going, which is $24 for 30 days of the $12 wash, as many times as you want. So I usually go about 6 times in a month. The guy was cool about it. I got the tire fixed with a new sensor gauge. The total cost from a Toyota dealership was $225. I am going to take the invoice to the dealership tomorrow to get them to ante up. If they don't I expect that my family, g/f, and her family could all stop going there. That would be about $250 bucks in 3 months, so they would be better off to pay me.

Thats the exact reason why I never go through automatic car washes! Any low profile tire will allow the wheel to get scratched on the wash track.
