Default wheel question

ok,
so like some of you, i have some curbdamage on my wheels.
my question is, is there a way to sand or smooth the damage out? is it even possible? if so, has anyone done it?
the reason im asking is to see if it can be done so i can powder coat my rims a different color, but i dont want to have all the scratches.
thanx guys/gals

You can go down to some tire/wheel places and they can do it. It should be about 45-60 per wheel. It will have a thin ring around the wheel though.

welcome, it just depends on how bad it is. Mine just scratched the finish so it was pretty easy to do
