Wheels rubbing with TRD Springs

Wheels rubbing with TRD Springs
Everyone kept telling me this setup would not have any rubbing issues, but mine seem to do.
I have TRD springs (one years old), 18x8 35 offset rims. Kumho ASX tires 225/40/18
and I hear a rubbing sound from the rear tires when going over large dips or bumps. Even with no one sitting in the backseats. is those going to cause any damage? Is there a reason why this is happening when everyone else doesn't have this problem
thanks!

yea that's why its so weird to me that it's rubbing and the front is actually lower and that doesn't rub. I only have 27k miles on the car. isn't that a little early for struts to go?

I guess I should chime in with my experience to level out the field.
I had TRDs before, and I had 18" 7.5 width wheels with 23 effective offset on AST Kumhos (225/40) WITH a 10" JL W7 sub in a custom ported box. With this combination I did get minor rubbing in the rear going over dips in the road while driving and also on steep entry ways when going at an angle. I'm sure you only rub when the car "dips" other wise on smooth roads it should be fine is what I'm understanding.
When I changed to F&F Type II Coilovers (current) I lowered the rear to zero to half finger (my TRDs in the rear were half finger gap due to subwoofer) in the rear and set them on full stiffness. It still exhibited rubbing on dips and steep driveways, but not as bad as with the TRDs since the coils are stiffer.
BUT, I recently got new tires (my kumho ast were bald) and switched to Falken Ziex 329 (same 225/40) and my rubbing went away. Even when I drive fast over dips it doesnt rub, and when I reverse out of my steep driveway it doesnt rub either (used to rub all the time before the tire change)
I then saw that the Kumho AST sidewall was straight and full sitting flush with the rim of the wheel, BUT the Falken Ziex's sidewall was angled in which has the characteristics of a stretched tire (without the stretch as i said before they are still 225/40). With the angled sidewall of the Falkens it helped move the top of the tire inside the well avoiding the fender lip.
When considering rubbing issues i think it's a good idea to consider all parts of the equation. Wheel size, width, offset, Tire width, series, diameter, as well as anomalies such as passengers and extra weight in the trunk.
You have to have the right combination inorder to rub on TRDs since it's a pretty modest drop (but it is defiantely possible). Some people have wide wheels but stretched tires but nothing in the trunk and no passengers which is why they don't rub. Some people may have narrow high offset wheels fat tires and extra weight in the trunk and still don't rub. The list goes on and on.
The ASX sidewall is pretty much the same as the AST (my brother had ASX on his eclipse) So I think if you switched to an "angled" sidewall tire like the Falken Ziex it may possibly help get rid of the Rubbing.
Of course as I said before it's good to consider all aspects as well as strange anomalies, such as strut construction/life (installation, but it's hard to mess up installation since it is pretty straight forward and goes in one way) and such or alignment. But you've driven on it for 27k and other than the rubbing you havent indicate anything problems with the car or suspension in general other than rubbing.
So in my opinion, and from my experience it's probably due to the sidewall of your tire, getting a more angled ("stretch-like") tire would probably help. Also the front doesn't really rub because the fender lip is actually Slightly rolled from factory whereas the rear is L-Shaped.
I hoped this help, I know I wrote alot but I'm just trying to cover all the bases and share my experience. Hopefully I didn't leave anything out, but good luck on getting it fixed. I know when I was rubbing it annoyed the heck outta me, so I can understand the frustration even though I was on TRDs at the time.

I see you have Neo Gens SCIONtific_tC. Are the sidewalls straight flush and full with the rim? or angled?
Also SCIONtific_tC I see that you have a custom box sub set up in the trunk which probably attributes to the weight on the springs lowering it a bit. I forgot to add that I had done measurements with my sub out of the car and in the car, and saw about Half an Inch (more or less) difference in height. I made a mistake in not mentioning this in the TRD rear sag thread debate.
Also forgot to mention take4roll10 you won't have any cosmetic damages from minor rubbing, and your tires should be fine (other than being a little mangled on the edge) Since I had my AST tires from new to bald while rubbing and they were fine, and my fenders didn't show any damage. But this is only for Minor rubbing.

I am very surprised too. smooth roads and going over dips at low speeds, its fine, but big dips, it rubs.
i'm going to get my shocks checked next week. my car is 4 years. 27K miles, so maybe they're blown.
