Default Anyone recommend some super bright reverse lights?

Just got my tints and I couldn't see jack trying to back up in my driveway. Figured I'd start with some brighter bulbs before we get into something more expensive like a back up camera. Direct links to the correct bulb size would be super helpful because I am a super noob at all things cars. I'm trying to self educate though!

Interested also, I can't see anything when backing up. The one reverse light is about as bright as a birthday candle sitting on the rear bumper.

this is what i've been using: http://www.ebay.com/itm/270594029460...S:1123&vxp=mtr

I have both reverse lights. I can't really comment on how well I can see with them though since I live in the suburbs where we have a lot of street lighting and such. I will mention though that they are bright enough that you can definitely see that they're on if you're behind the car in the day time which is good enough for me since I feel like it provides more of a 'warning' to other cars when you're backing out.

I made the 2nd reverse light mod cause it is necessary. I put on a set of high powered bulbs like these...

I'll take some more pics so you can see the effect. They are awesome, it will make a whole lotta difference...

You can even take it a step further for a little more and get these...

http://www.v-leds.com/6K-WHITE-LED-7...-p9769084.html

They are just like the ones javithekid use. Both 7w cree except the v-led bulds have extra led lights on the side of the socket which add to the luminance.

You can also go even further from that and get these...

http://www.v-leds.com/6K-WHITE-LED-9...-p9768537.html

Although it doesn't have the small leds attached like the one above, it instead is 9w power which is even brighter.

Definitely getting these. I can't see jack at night when going in reverse, specially under rainy weather. Do these also work for the mirror signals? If not, what kind of LEDs would do the job? People around are so blind of their surroundings they might need something blindingly bright for them to notice when I am trying to switch lanes.

I bought PIAA bulbs and I got the 7440 size and they were too large. I don't understand why.

Im sure there are people that do just fine where you are that dont have mirror turn signals but only the flasher in the headlight.

If you get those lights then youll need to update the thread with pics!

yeap, go with v-leds, they're the best. I got a pair on my plate lights... but when I bought mine for the reverse I guess I forgot to look on their page..

BOTTOM LINE:
LED bulbs are NOT going to provide as much usable light as an incandescent bulb. They appear brilliant when you look at them, but they don't cast light very far.

Best bet is getting a replacement incandescent bulb with higher wattage rating. Alicia, I see you asked what the stocks are rated at. Does it say on the bulb? My stock bulbs are in my glove box, and I don't feel like taking the elevator down to go out to my car right now lol.

If the PIAAs won't work, maybe these Sylvania SilverStars?

Are these the same, or similar? Just want to make sure that 7443 can replace 7440. I know shipping from HK will take longer, but I am patient Thanks.

So upon further inspection today I realized that the reverse light bulbs for the 2012 are not the same size. I can't remember exactly what they were. A 198, 168, 164? Something along those lines. Would explain why the PIAA bulbs I bought didn't fit. They look like they'd fit in the turn signals or the brake lights so I could always put them there so they don't get to waste right?

Yep, 2012 reverse lights are smaller, but there are two of them at least. I'm not sure of the model number, but they are different, do your research.
