DDM HID PROBLEMS!!!
Has anyone else had problems with their ddm tuning hid's they only lasted about 3 months. So here is the story installed them and a week later I noticed I had to turn them on and off multiple times to get the ballast to fire up. So I than bought the relay wire as I thought the stock wires couldn't provide the start up current needed to fire up the ballast. This worked for a while until the fuse kept blowing and started burning the relay wires so I taped the wires and the relay fuse box with electrical tape. It kept blowing fuses and I replaced them until everything just stopped working. I need a more reliable hid kit! Can you guys point me in the right direction thanks.

sounds like a defect... I would try to get a replacement from them.
my friends and I all used DDM HIDs... none of us had a problem with it at all... few of them are running 2+ years now too..
**Edit: We are all running 35w Slim Ballast kits thought... I noticed that you are running 55w kits...

More expensive yes, but you get what you pay for.

That's what the lifetime warranty is for, man. Just toss the stock bulbs back in for now and get a replacement kit from DDM.
Been running mine since mid-January with no hints of problems.

Thanks guys I will give them a call it's sad because I have 2 55w 8k kits one for my headlights and one for my foglights 3 lights or (ballast) out of four don't work it's kind of crazy buy if they don't do anything about it I'll go somewhere else. Just for the record I'm not bashing them I like their product I just want the lights to work.

I've been running my hids 35w 6000k since December. And ever since June I have to flick my lights on twice and it comes on. With four ddm tunning ballast and one a just have to turn my light off and on again. That's not bad I guess. Doesnt bother me any. Lol

i have this same problem too. i have gotten used to just live around it. just turn them on and keep them on without any lights for about 20 seconds and when you turn them back on the they go on straight away

I contacted them and they said to try their wire harness that connects straight to the battery. this will be the first step, if this does not fix it to call them back get a RMA number and send my ballast back. the only problem with that is that it will take approximately 4-6 weeks to get my ballast back. I'm about to order another kit, and the wiring harness and then ship the bad ballast and keep that kit as a back up or sell it.
will be ordering soon, so I will be updating this as it goes.

Mine had trouble at first, and then I realized all of my connections weren't tight. I reconnected everything, gave every connection a good wrapping of electrical tape and haven't had a single problem since.

I installed an 8k headlights and a 6k fog lights kit on my gf's Tundra

They are somewhat pricey but I haven't gone wrong with this company yet.
