Question to those who plastidipped their wheels, does the plastidip dry smooth? I did one wheel and there's grit.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

There's definitely texture. I think with a coat or two of regular paint on top, you could get it pretty smooth.

Plasti-dip is not primer. It does not stick very well for a long period of time. Especially with winter if you live in the NE. Why in the world would you paint over it?
It surely looks nice for short term projects to hold you over until you could afford new rims and other things like that but more and more people keep embarking on projects with plastidip and expect it to last a while. If you like the look of plastidip you are better off using vinyl it last much longer and really isnt hard to apply.

Sorry for teh rant..just take my word for it I've used the product, like the results...but it just doesnt last.

I don't think any of us are disagreeing with your assessment of how long plasti dip will last. I think it just depends on the look you're going for. mospeed used plasti dip like primer because it doesn't last forever. Didn't want to commit to a color he may not light. I left my wheels just plasti dipped with no top coat cuz I decided I liked the black, but if you already have your wheels off, might as well add a coat or 2 of other paint if there is a different look you want to consider.
