The first time I did it, it was actually tougher because of the curves of the lettering.

How did you do that, you asked that a few minutes ago and got an answer, was it a browser glitch?

how to plasti dip (anything)

mask off a square around the area to be painted (this will prevent overspray...the kind thats hard to get off)
spray a single coat...(just one time left to right)..and YES, paint will get onto the body, but no big deal
wait about 15 minutes
repeat until you get about 3-5 coats (the more coats, the thicker, the easier to peel off later) waiting 15 minutes inbetween
(optional) spray a clear coat
wait 15 minutes
remove the newspaper/tape or whatever u used to mask the square
use your fingers to peel the (dry) paint off the body/areas you dont want painted

NOTE: IF you want to put a coat of regular spray paint (in a different color)...i strongly suggest 5 or more coats before applying the regular spray paint...and then an optional clear coat after
NOTE: on your first spray, its okay that there is still some silver of the emblem still showing...as you add coats it will even out and fill with the color of the plasti dip
NOTE: YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REMOVE ANYTHING OFF THE CAR

Hm what I would do is spray right on the car and LIGHTLY take a razor blade and curve around the letters so the rubber comes off a little easier.
I HATE re-applying emblems.

but if you're painting the lip you can only do a single coat near the edges because you have to remove the tape while wet to get clean lines.

Pj, love your car man. When you did the front did you mask off the whole grill with tape? And how did you mask around the back bumper so nicely? You didn't use a razor knife right? I also have a suggestion for your car.. plastidip eyelids. Super easy and make the car look angry!

lol i love the lights the way they look

but for the back i used tape just like the front. I just spent a good 30 minutes making sure every piece of tape was straight and that the curves were perfect.

and for the front all i did was push back the grill (the sides and bottom snap off) and then it was easier to ape the bottom lip... but yeah i put newspaper over the grill and the whole front of the car so it was less excess to take off after.

Really makes the car look good, but are there any precautions while washing your car, as to not peel it off or corrode it? I may do this to my white Tc.
