Agreed, why do you guys want to shift if you got automatics. Whenever I drive an automatic, its because I want the car to do all the driving for me.

Wish I had one but problem is in my family, yes I live with my parents while attending college and saving 10k a year that I don't have, and we have 4 cars and a motorcycle and only a 2 car garage that fits my moms car and my dads Harley. My car, bros, and the truck stay outside and if someone needs to move my car my mom and bro can move it. My dad already taught me how to drive with a standard tranny with an older truck.

because it IS a six speed transmission. that thing always looks for the most economical gear. trying to pull into traffic sucks unless you floor it. and thats were the sequential mode comes in. controlling your rpm's

when switched to sports mode the 4th gear is just the default gears it goes into, just downshift it if your going to slow the computer will not allow u to go lower then your current speed it will just make a beeping noise saying it wont go any lower,no worries about hurting your tranny

Bloodknight. The dealership I go to, one of the mechanics said a customer brought their tc in with a blown trans when they were driving in sport mode. So there is some caution that is needed to be taken but still you have more room to play with it.

Wow ok I gotta be careful then cuz I know when I wanna pass someone I switch over to sports and downshift which gives me a lot more power and I just punch it, live the feeling of the pull the car gives when u downshift and feel the power

Default how it works

the way it works is the gear showed is the top gear it will get, not the gear its in. If you are in 1st gear while on D and switch it to S it will still say 4th but will still be in 1st. u dont choose the gear u are on, u choose the top gear it can go to. That is what ive expirienced and what the manual says.

Spot on, which makes S mode pathetic and a waste of time. It's poorly executed but I can't expect much more from a car in this class though, so it's all good.

My parents just got a brand-new Range Rover Sport, which also has a manual shift mode. I was blown away at how responsive it is. The gear changes happen instantaneously as you upshift the gear selector. It restored my faith in automatic transmissions with manual selection options. You just have to find one that is properly executed.
