Does anyone know how much HP the Injen CAI/SRI makes? I was trying to find it but i just cant seem to find info on it. And i saw that the Takeda is supposed to add 11hp and 11lb torque, so i want to know who's is the best performance wise :D

gains of up to 9 hp, but i dont know if its for the cold air or short ram or both, i found it here http://www.injen.com/Galleries/ProductPress/SP2116.jpg
on autoanything.com the short ram intake is 176.95, so im thinking to buy it since i just read that descendant is only planning right now for the cold air intake but i want a short ram...

Doing a side by side comparison video of the injen and descendants in the middle of next week. I'll post up when I do but I'm just not happy with Injens play on the MAF sensor. It makes it run much too lean especially earlier in the RPM range. I'll be switching the descendant from the injen as soon as it comes in.

has the injen CAI listed as gains of 9hp, 8ft-lbs of torque. Whereas the SRI was 7hp, 7ft-lbs of torque. Personally i'll take the SRI that gets slightly less power, but safer with regards to waterlock.

Papa Bear or anyone else for that matter, have you pulled the spark plugs to verify a lean condition? Your theory on the tube by MAF sounds spot on. Just curious.
For now I'm sticking with the K & N drop in filter and modding the stock intake box for more flow. The most restictive part is the snorkel on the side of airbox. Way too small IMO.

There isn't really a need to pull the plugs. It goes lean and insaw it on there dyno with the sideband in the exhaust. It's around 11.1 stock and 12.3:1 with this but under about 4500 or so it's closer to 14~:1 which is way too lean at any point under wot. 14.7 is good at idle but never under wot as the stock ratio is at 11:1 in the same spot.

i got the injen short ram for 172. im having fun with it so far, also the engine sounds louder, especially in second and third gear, over 3k rpm. it is normal right? lol...
when i got i had to wash it inside the tube, it was very dirty, with some black stuff, may be from the welding... so i guess they forgot to cleaning it inside.

Not sure if Papa_Bear will be back on here after the water issue on the Injen CAI, but now that the Descendant SRI/CAI is out as well I wanted to look further into the MAF Sensor manipulation and the tC running lean after the Injen SRI is installed.
Just from looking at the install pictures of the Injen and the Descendant, the MAF looks to be in the same spot, so asking if there is a major difference with them installed/dyno'd? Also curious if anyone has gotten a dyno result with the Descendant installed?
Same goes with the Weapon R, or any other intake, not including the TRD since it has a totally different configuration.

Scratch, the MAF manipulation is within the intake of the injen. It's a small tube in the intake that tricks the MAF in to thinking less airflow is going through then there is which is where the lean condition comes in.

Thank you for that, so we should be looking at the insides of these intakes to see who is trying to pull what... and by that logic, can one modify the Injen to remove or reduce the faked air flow and thus the lean condition?
Just asking, as of today I don't have the Injen in front of me so I have no idea if it would be possible.
