I've been driving manual since I've had my license and I don't think I can even drive an automatic for my daily. Manual ftw

Ohh.. the problem i had was that i needed the car immediately for school, so i was worried i wouldnt have time to learn. Big mistake! I could have learned it in one day, and have it down packed in less than a week! Then i would look like a boss driving manual lol

Anyone else notice these three things?? When shifting into first you can't just take the shifter all the way to the left and throw it into first.. Its just a little to the right, almost like its off center. Also the throw from first to second, if not perfectly straight down u can easily miss second gear... Again like its of center....Lastly the throw from 4th to 5th if your not careful and you go to far to the right the bottom of the shifter I.e. the little cup hits the shifter cage! My clip almost came undone. Anyone else notice this??

you must've not installed it correctly then? I have no issues and I went into my car to check, the vertical throws are all in line and accurate.

I think you need to adjust the clips that hold the cables on the shifter.

You can move neutral position of the shifter side to side and front to back by shortening or lengthening the two cables.

I just did this on a Cobalt SS/TC with a TWM RL shifter, it seemed a little out of alignment with the shift gates. Turns out there were special instructions in the back of the included instructions for adjusting the cables.

Check your install and cables. My shifter is aligned with no problems. Entry points are smaller than stock, but that's what it's supposed to do...

And that's why I switched from the pin and pushnut to the 3/8" bolt, washer and nut.

^ i was considering that but i was sorta lazy and was like 'eh prob not gonna ever need to switch it out anyways...' i did consider leaving the pin on without the push nut since it didn't seem like it would budge since it did take some hammering to get it out in the first place.. but i put the push nut on anyways. thing is impossible to take off though, you would think they would manufacture a bolt with a long shoulder for this application...

Well, the 3/8" bolt did require a sleeve to work right. Without the sleeve, the shifter was very sloppy. All said and done though, cost me less than $2.00

Finally got my shift boot in, so I have pictures of the upgraded Short Shifter without my car torn apart!

Wow! That looks really good! I like the colour choices! They blend well with the factory interior.

What black is that? I know they have a million and one colour choices available.
