I wish they made our cars RWD in the first place... a rwd tC would be awesome. if i hit the lottery i think i would buy another tc and have a built RWD tC2 to play around with.

This thread makes me LOL. you act as if it should be a routine procedure to dramatically alter the one of the most fundamental properties of a modern car.

RWD conversion is absolutely possible for much cheaper than you think.. But that's only if you didn't calculate what labor would run you if someone else did all the work. I'd love the have a RWD tC because I'd be the only one around with it and it would be a lot more fun to drive. YES, you can go buy an FRS and have a RWD car, but hell, anyone can do that. I love the body/interior in my tC but not the engine/drivetrain... SO, if you plan on swapping your tC to RWD/AWD, you're going to have to consider the amount of custom parts that will need fabricating. You'll need to find an engine/tranny/rearend to use, custom mounts/driveshafts, brakes, custom exhast header/exhaust, possibly have to scrap the steering rack in the tC, custom transmission tunnel/bay, a lot of firewall modification.. If you can weld/measure/fabricate like a boss and have the equipment to do so, that's over HALF the battle there. You're also looking at custom wiring throughout. I'd love to do this and might look in to it way down the road when my tC is just another vehicle laying around the house.

I think it might be more fun to buy a new corvette after all the time and money and hiccups you run across

I know. lol.. I like these forums, but I equally hate them.
Lets buy a boat and put wings on it and try and make it fly.

gushi said it cost them somewhere around 100k but his team also doesn't skimp on parts
