Default tC2 auto transmission..

How much power can the auto trans handle?

I'd like facts not opinions.

I don't assume (logically) that Toyota / Scion would build our Scions with high performance capabilities on a budget. Its meant for our hp/tq that came with car imho.
Add much more, things start to break. aka. better clutch for more hp, I would assume need to beef up tranny a bit for auto.

Just my .02c could mean nothing and I could be completely wrong.

I'm at 9.5 psi and have had no issues. I know of one tC2 that plans to push it higher but he just had his internals on his auto trans beefed up by Level 10.
Not sure how much psi he plans to go to though. I know with the beefed up trans, it can supposedly hold 600+hp. Then again, you'd have to start building bottom end as well.

What kind of stuff did he do? I assume your 9.5 was a safe tune?

He's got a Dezod kit with the built auto trans. He says he upgraded the torque converter, new valve body, and a reflash of the trans ecu. He's aiming for 20psi. My 9.5psi is on a very safe tune. Paul @ Dezod tuned it himself (street tune).

I may have to look into that... I wanna make 350 to the wheels so I figured 12 psi would do it.

Paul is still putting my kit together n all I have now is my GReddy Evolution 3 Exhaust n I just ordered a Mishimoto trans cooler.

Yeah, nobody has pushed the limit on what the auto trans can do without modifying it. You can be the first and let me know how that works out. I'm pretty happy at close to 300 to the wheels. I don't see the need to up my boost levels. I also have the mishi trans cooler but haven't gotten around to installing it.

Midpipe is changed due to Dezod 3" turbo back exhaust. Injectors were changed with the kit. 550cc injectors come with it.
