The dealerships here charge $90-$100 per hour, idk what the deal with them is. I'm definitely never going to have them install anything at that rate, the quickshifter install was easy enough anyways. Sick mod!

I talked to the dealership before i did the install myself and they said it was in their computer for a 2.5 hr install. they dont have a time for the 2011+ since they re-designed how they produced the SS. the previous models were done like a TWM because it was the shifter itself. its just ignorance on toyota's end and its unfortunate because they could do it for a decent price and i would have paid the "convenience charge" to save me the 30 mins for the install. after i installed the SS on my car i told the person who actually quoted me the labor on it and they were surprised how easy the new design was to install vs. the previous generation tc. with that said, dont be too harsh on the dealership for their price of install, its the computers fault for not giving them an install time for our part. however it is annoying that they cant change the information for the next guy. I will now step down from my soap box

Thanks for the information, I assumed something like that had to have happened. I knew it couldn't possibly take them 3 hours (the guy at the dealership assumed it was just because of other cars crowding the service bay). The part is so easy to install it's not worth letting them do it anyways, but when i get the TRD lowering springs, that'll be a totally different issue.

hey man no problem, when i was quoted for more than the part itself for the install i was like hit the brakes! so i decided to look into it more so thats all i found on it. as far as the springs go i plan on doing that myself, but it helps that my buddy has a lift. if that option wasn't available there eould be no way im doing it with a jack and jack stands lol. i'd recommend looking for a local shop that does good work to have install the springs. i hear the dealership is really expensive for springs

I may be a little late with this but if you go to the dealership and tell them about scions website and the whole pure price thing then they should give it to you for $150 installed. I did it with me TRD springs. They quoted me like $500 with the install, I brought up the website on my phone and they dropped the price to $399 + tax.

They started at off $500 with them installed? Damn, I need to find out what's up with Houston dealers. I'm most like going to get quoted $800 or more.. I'll most likely just buy the springs on TRDsparks and take them to a nice shop.

Scion.com and dealers have a disclaimer at the bottom that says something to the effect of "some parts do not include installation costs"

Supertek version of this short shift kit is now available through ebay. Made from T-6061 its just like the TRD style, but almost half the price.
