Modeltc,

I am very glad you are enjoying your kit. Thank you very much for giving us the opportunity to work on your car!! That color was starting to grow on me towards the end of the week.

Let me know if I can do anything else for you.

thanks again, Drew

Any chance we could see some manifold pics off the car? Maybe interior pics? Looks amazing installed with the rest of the kit. Nice work guys.

Did you upgrade your radiator? If not do you guys think it needs it? Down here in S.C. it's 100+F in the summer with 300% humidity. I'd be afraid all that extra heat would be a problem down here.
Also is their an affordable ceramic coating that could stand up to the heat of the turbo manifold? Is ceramic wrap better in this application? Sorry for thread jacking but I think this is useful info. for potential customers.

Nope - Added a fan. Comes with the kit

I've never seen a ceramic coating that didn't shed its skin over time. I like wraps personally but you have to consider what you're doing. If its to reduce underhood temps then I really like wraps but now I'm forcing every possible degree of heat through the turbo... If temps are an issue then I would look for colder air - which I may do in the future. As far as the manifold lasting - the walls on the tubing are THICK. Not to worry.

would it be possible to route some pipe to the front of the bumper rather than have the filter in the engine bay sucking in all that heat?

I was wondering that too, it seems like an odd locaion for the filter, you'd think that would get heat soaked

This is an option we might come out with in the future. As of now the kit has proved it self multiple times over the last year running without any hiccups on our original R&D car.

The intercooler used in this kit, is effective beyond what the stock motor is capable. Even if the filter is seeing warm air, the IAT is that of ambient outside air because of the intercooler's efficiency. We would love to do a 4" intake just like the tc1 kit, however that is just not possible on the tc2. Smaller diameter piping would have to be used along with bends ( unlike tc1 kit.). The suctional loss would offset the advantage of pulling in outside air. Time may be spent on the dyno in the future for testing ideas for this though.

Quick update - Several hundred miles on the car since getting PTuned. No CELs. It's getting 26-30MPG. Will update after next fill-up. The mid-range on this setup is STOUT and indicative of PTunings turbo sizing. It pulls so hard in 4th and 5th to the point where I think I may have some clutch slippage - need to verify after turning off TSC/VSC. For a DD I can't ask for anything more. Need to pass someone? Not an issue - hit it. Cooling fan came on for a couple of seconds after some stop and go traffic at 66 degrees outside. Moved the car 10 feet and the fan shut off. Overall - this setup is killer for a DD. BTW - I did not opt for a fuel pump or clutch - I'm an adult . There is more HP and TQ to be had if you go this way and if you do...get the clutch.

Hesitations about buying this kit or service from PTuning...? NONE - All first class

Mileage today after 1/4 city and 3/4 tank of highway driving was 28.6MPG. I'm halfway through the next tank and the avg on the meter is 31.4 so I'm thinking I should be around 30+MPG or close to it on the highway. What does this mean...? I've lost .5 - 1 MPG maybe being boosted. In other words I've got over 100HP extra and it costs me little to nothing as a DD.

That's great news to hear you've lost practically nothing in mileage with the added power. Thanks for taking the time to monitor your gas mileage and giving us some feedback. I'm sure the mileage might have been even better without getting on boost--which i'm sure is hard not to do with the power on tap

Tuned for approximately 10psi on 93 Octane, using AEM FIC

Also, since a lot of people are used to seeing DynoJet number,
we did a dyno pull using an emulated reading for a typical DynoJet (approximately 12% higher reading):

Is that an automatic?
