Default Why I should buy Descendant vs. P-Tuning turbo and vice versa?

Confused as to which to go with. Any input, especially from both vendors would help. Don't mean to start a war, but just want to know differences.

You probably can get all the answers you need from the two manufacturer's threads located just below your thread.

If you have any particular questions, please don't hesitate to PM us.
Best way to compare the two kits is to look at the kit content.

Here is the PTUNING tC2 turbo kit thread, in case you are interested:

lol, that about sums it up.

personal experiences wont really help you much, people will tell you to get the kit that they purchased, since its the only side they know.

also people will tell you to stay away from shops theyve had bad experiences with.

personnaly, coming from a person with neither product (that would be me) you should go with the kit that 1) suits your ultimate power goals and 2) is closer to you to make trouble shooting and customer service faster easier and faster.

honestly if ptuning was down my block or a couple hours away, i wouldnt hesitate to chose them, lol

my $0.02

What's missing here is an objective analysis of differences between the two kits available at present, unfortunately.

I agree. I'm in the market for a turbo kit currently, and while I've talked to the guys over at descendant, the only differences I know of between them is the way that they look. And they even look pretty similar. Hopefully someone can give us an idea which turbo kit would actually be better. Like which one provides the most hp/ torque, what is the amount of boost each one puts out? Little things like that.

We just tuned a tc2 with the PTuning kit on completely stock exhaust... Made 293whp on a mere 7.5 psi. This was on a Dyno Dynamics dyno, uncorrected. I just watched the vid above, sounds like exhaust was removed and the dyno was a dynapack... Don't know what the boost was.

DESCENDANT FTW! the price is amazing for what you get. I got it back about 5 months ago and imvglad i got this kit. Theyve been working with tcs especially longer than anyone out there, their cars and even their service speaks for itself. Descendant is the way to go, never second guessed it.

Your statement here is false. We have been in the Scion game since 2005. This is when the car was conceived from Toyota. Our 1st turbo system has been outstanding since 2006. Descendant didn't even begin offering retail kits until 2007 or 8.

Our kit contents:
System component list

Genuine Garrett T3/T04E turbocharger
Stainless steel braided -4 AN oil feed line
-10AN oil return line
CNC insta-tap Oil Pan System (no welding required)
Stainless steel "Ram Horn" tubular TIG welded turbo manifold (3/8” thick head flange)
TiAL 38mm V-band wastegate
Stainless steel 2.5” downpipe w/ flex section & v-band connection
Stainless steel s-pipe w/ v-band connection (bolts to stock exhaust or aftermarket)
TiAL Q 50mm blow off valve
Front mount intercooler 26”x 6.5” x 3.5”
Mandrel bent, light weight, SFP Technology aluminum intercooler pipes
2.5” aluminum intake system with DSS Technology MAF housing
K&N filter
4 ply silicone couplers
T-bolt clamps & Stainless Worm gear
Turbo install kit
CNC vacuum manifold (for a cleaner install)
Plug-N-Play 550cc fuel injectors (no cutting or splicing)
AEM Fuel & Ignition Controller (AEM FIC) w/ Base Calibration
Custom wiring harness for the AEM FIC (no cutting or splicing required)

American made quality and craftsmanship are alive and well here.

I like some parts of your kit a lot more than descendants. However at the price i paid forvit, i havebno right to complain. Also paul i have a question. How did you guys fit a front mount to the car? Did you have to cut the bumper or w.e? Im a friend of mikes by the way. Good guy. His tcvturned out really nice
