Any problems with your tC2?
So far I love everything about this car. It's fun, looks great, and rides nice. I just seem to have 2 little problems with it. First one is that I hate second gear. Every gear feels and shift into beautifully but for me it seems that second gear is a little tough and takes quite the effort compared to the others. Second thing is the USB connector for the flash drive/iPod interface. It seems that no matter what gets plugged in, whether it's an iPod, mp3 player, or flash drive, the car doesn't seem to recognize it. Matter of fact there isn't even power going to the device from what I can tell. AUX seems to be working perfectly fine, but its a basic form of connectivity and I don't want to be looking down every time to change a song. I called scion customer support and they said that it might be a bad setup where the USB cable wasn't connected properly to the head unit, I have the base pioneer HU. After taking it back to my scion dealership and taking it apart, it seems everything is fine but they don't know how to get it to work.
Want to know any other tC2 problems owners seem to be having or if you happen to have the same problems and maybe found a fix?

1. pull the radio bezel out, its held in by clips
2. unscrew the 4 bolts in the corners of the radio
3. check that there are 4 cables plugged into the back of the radio
4. if all cables are there (4 total) pop the panel that the USB connector is located on by pulling it up
5. reach under the panel and push the USB plug out
6. check that the cables are connected
7. if you still do not find an issue make sure all of the wires are connected to the plugs of all of the connections mentioned above.
8. if nothing is loose and you still can not figure out why it is not working, give up, put it all back together
9. drive to a different Scion dealer and have them look at it.
10. if they can not make it work, yell at them and be ____ed off
11. go back to your original dealer, complain
12. find your salesperson, complain

Oh awesome! Thanks I'll get to this today, really appreciate it!!! If all else fails you can bet I'll make myself heard at the dealership lol. The nicest, respectful way possible of course. :-)
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

Honestly being a new vehicle i would tell the dealer fix it or get me a new one!!! Dont take the chance of scratching your dash or taking it apart and not being able to fix it and the dealer trying to come up with a way not to cover it since you took it apart to look at it! that my honest opinion

USB problem fixed.
Posted a thread earlier about my USB not working at all. I want to thank 11whitetc for the suggestion and stating its a pretty easy fix and also WellesleyScion for putting up the instructions on how to do it. Quite honestly is really easy, don't know why my local Scion dealership couldn't figure it out and had to reschedule me for another day lol.
Just going to post WellesleyScion's instructions along with pics that I took while doing it, just in case anyone else has this problem and wants to see what's it involves.

lol, my car has the basic pioneer unit too with the same problems with the ipod/usb connection. i brought it to the dealership and had them check it out. everything was connected but my ____ still doesnt work. they even pulled in another '11 tc with the same unit and hooked my ipod to it and everything worked fine. so now, the ordered me another stereo and i gotta drop it off again sometime next week.

Mmm burritos... That sucks they should have given you one off the other tCs lol. Now that my USB works I'm enjoying it more. Now time to do something about that single reverse light thing going on

Relocation of the USB AUX in?
Has anyone thought of doing this? I am debating this because I would like to just leave my iPod in my car and tucked away out of sight. I would never leave it in the car for much longer then a few hours since I know thieves love to look for them., But I hate having to take it out everytime I go somewhere. Thoughts?

I did it in my xD. I relocated it to the glove box. another super simple thing to accomplish, just pull the panels up and pop out the USB plug. then just move the wiring to a new location and your done. I dont have a part number off hand, but you can pick up a replacement plug from your local dealer.
