Hertz Audio 3-Way component speakers installed
#41
Anyone know of a box, other than the JL one, that is on the side and out of the way or down by the spare? I was to add some bass to my ride but dont want to take up the trunk space. Also I added the Focal A 165 3 way component system to my doors and they sound great, powered by Rockford Fosgate PBR300X4. Great tiny amp that powers everything!

Well after 2 full days, I finally got these installed and they sound great. I had a Focal set up in my previous car and I think these sound much smoother. Sorry for the bad quality pics. They are from my cell phone .
-The speakers are Hertz Hi-Energy HSK163.
-I have 3 layers of Sound deadening in each door
-Crossovers are running underneath the passenger seat
-I am running an older V12 Alpine MRV-t420 2 channel amp
-I am running all high quality noise reducing wiring. (Stinger, Streetwires, Monster)
-No sub yet (thinking about stealthbox)
Let me know if you guys have any questions. I think I'm a guinea pig for a 3 way set up in the Scion TC2.

In the door panel it fits perfect. You have to drill out the rivets for the existing 6x9 speaker mounts. Once that's out you can fit the SAT69 inplace, however you'll need to get plumers foam tape or some sound damening tape of some sort so you can put around the edges of the large hole so the SAT69 doesn't vibrate against the metal. I used the $4 plummers foam tape at home depot which you can also get at Lowes. It's good enough for the job and quite inexpensive.
