Default Installling Pioneer AVH-P4300DVD

Ok guys, not sure if anyone can help but here goes. I've bought a Pioneer AVH-P4300 and I think I'm the only one that bought the Scosche dash kit to install it. It looks like I'm going to have small gaps above and below the radio and the trim piece Pioneer gives you with the radio isn't sized right. Just wondering if anyone could give me some advice on making this look extremely clean. I'm a bit OCD on things like this.

There's a few of us already that have the 4300 installed. It installs clean with the Scosche kit. In order to make the 2 pieces fit flush however, you need to sand down the the inside of each piece so they're flat.

Ok. Another question I have is what the other 2 or 3 connectors behind the stock radio are for? Do I just not use them anymore?

There should be a small grey one, that's for the vehicle USB and AUX connection. The other small white multi-pin connector is for the steering wheel control. KidJustin used a kit to tap into his so he could keep his wheel controls, I didn't think it was worth the hassle even though he said it was easy. He also cut and spliced his USB cable to keep his factory connection. Again I chose not to as I didn't want to cut up my wires.

Also with the scosche wiring harness, be sure to connect the headunits blue 12v switched source to the harnesses blue wire, otherwise the factory amp under the drivers seat will not turn on.

Thanks Rotz. You're a huge help. Another question is which wire do I connect the radios reverse signal input (purple with white stripe) to?

Unless you're installing a camera on the hatch you don't have to worry about that one.

I finally just got everything in and I'm happy with how it looks. Now I've just gotta get everything back out and figure out the steering wheel control interface.

The antenna is an individual wire, large gauge with large metal connector on the end that looks almost like an rca connection.

I use the Metra Axxess ASWC.

Install guide:
http://contentdocs.installernet.com/...icle/10957.pdf

You need 3 wires from the 20pin connector behind the radio to connect to. Then connect ground and 12V. I just spliced into the Pioneer wires for ground and 12v.

Another thing you need to do is remap the buttons. The ASWC auto programs the preset up and down as seek up and down.

It tool about 30mins to install for me

Would anybody be interested in posting a pic of the finished install? I am really considering buying one, but I've never actually seen one installed.

This harness retains the factory aux in and also give you the steering control wires without splicing into the factory connector. And if your using the metra ASWC that black plug on top is straight plug and play, only connecting you have to do other than plugging it in is wire +Ign/-Ground for power and that is it.
