Okay, yea I have been in my doors installing dynamat, speakers, wires, etc 3 times and have not yet measured the mounting depths...

I'm tired and since I have already installed the Hertz 3 way components up front and have dynamatted them i really don't want to remove them to measure the mounting depth unless I absolutly have to.

The last time I was installing the speakers I tested by rolling the window down before buttoning everything up and it seems to me the windows hieght isn't that large and it doesn't go down to where the 6x9 magnet would be. Has anyone checked the measuring depth on the 6x9 in the doors or can verify the window won't hit the magnet if I go with a speaker with a 3.5" mounting depth?

I really like my hertz 3 ways but found an excellent deal on a set of CDT 6x9 mid bass woofers and am considering replacing the 6.5 hertz woofer in my doors with them (they are 300 dollar set of 6x9 woofers).

Any help appreciated, otherwise I'll have to go back into the doors yet once again to measure before I buy these things...

Unfortunately, I think your best bet for a 100% accurate depth size would be to measure yourself. Someone could say for a top mount you have 2 9/16" + may be off. I would think the diameter of the speaker magnet may be also crucial for a correct fitting of not hitting your window when down.

Like the carpenter said "measure twice then cut".
