Sub/Amp Install Pics Thread
I'm going to be getting a JL 8w7 and 500/1v2 with tax returns and I am having concerns with mounting positions for the amp.
I really don't want to take up all of my trunks space with this equipment because I'd still like to be able to use some of the room back there from time to time.
I'm not a huge fan of mounting the amp on the back of the fold-down seats, but I'd still like to see what others have come up with even if it includes that.
Thaaaanks!

Is the W7 going to kill people with it's output in the car? I am currently looking for a way to increase my bass in the car. But from what I have seen from the W7s they would be way more then I need. Sorry if it sounds silly I am just not to knowledgeable on the whole car audio thing. Also what brands would you recommend?
Thanks again,
Joe
Edit: Can't type changed W& to W7

a w7 may be a little more than you're looking for if you only want some bass presence. I'd recommend a rockford fosgate punch for something else easier to power, rather than spending extra money to keep the levels tuned way down

Stasis presents a valid point. It's all in what you are looking for. I previously owned a 12w7 that I used in my '94 Taurus I have throughout college. Love, love, loved it. And it familiarized me with the potential of the w7, even being trapped in a closed trunk without fold-down seats.
I won't need as much power in the tC though because it's a open-air hatchback, meaning the bass is already going to resonate much stronger regardless of what sub you have back there. The 500w RMS the 8w7 will output should be a sweet-spot for me.

i no this isnt a tc but this is just an idea i did this in my xD and it took about 5 hours just pulled the fake floor out and built a box to copy it and this is what i got and its solid doesnt move around or rattle at all

Great job! But I'd like to keep some functional space in my trunk. :-)

yeah i was thinking about that when i built it so i also built a little shelf to go over them when i need to put something back there but you could also do the same thing just to one side put the sub and amp to one side and have the other half for storage.

Back when I had my Super White tC1, my cousin wrecked his car and sold the sub and box to me for $50
Long story short it didnt fit in the truck at all...(thats what she said)
Well it fits in the tC2, so I wired it all up and threw it in there blah blah blah.

Oh sorry MixD, very clean box hahaha!
Greenbean24, I like the cleaning kit you have going on there! I am still trying to get all the cleaners I want together for my car. I also don't have a nice way to keep everything in place whiles driving, good reason to get a sub!
