The FR-S is tempting. For some reason, I just don't believe it will look exactly like everyone is hoping. I'm not trying to bring negativity, I'm sure it will be a sweet car....Just not concept sweet. You know what I mean? lol

There's a whole story as to why I'm jumping on this RS7. Short short story.... my job is hooking me up..Getting me out of a 2011 SE V6 2yrs early, without being upside down. So I'm taking advantage of the offer

I was watching a walk-a-round video of the RS7 on youtube and the guy said the car uses synthetic and even showed the sticker. Are all TC2's using synthetic?

No, the RS has the same motor as all 2011+ and they all take the same oil. It is only possible to achieve such a light weight (0W) with synthetic oil.

I understand, I work in parts for Toyota. I just never bothered to look up the TC2 til they offered to get me out of my lease early. Plus, Scion's are not popular @ my dealership. I've been out of the Scion loop since I registered here back in 06. Thanks for the heads up

My fault, sorry for the "Barney step" break down! You never know what peoples experience level is sometimes though. Not that mine is high, I learn new stuff on this forum almost daily.

You talking of the walk-around video of the only RS7 currently in TN, 6SPD? While the keyless entry is nice, makes me think of what if the battery was to run out for the key, what then? Also yes, the tC2 from factory uses synthetic.

I wondered that too, but I really wonder how you turn the car to on, without the engine running. Like, with just the radio on.

You just press the button like other push start vehicles. I believe the kid showed that in the vid, then he put his foot on the brake to start.

No, it was to the right in related videos. Just some salesman showing the car...like 2min long. The one with the kid from TN was good though.
Also, there's a key you pull out of the fob to use in the door if the battery were to die.

I have a question for those who have already gotten theirs. Does the number badge light up or is it just a sticker?

Badge is just a sticker, there Is an emergency pull out key if the remote is dead, then u hold the romote on the butten and push it and it starts. But the battery lasts for over 5 years. To use just the radio sit in the car, have it in neutral and do not touch brake or clutch, and push the start butten. Press it again and u have full power accessories. To start the car, clutch in brake in, press the butten.

MOST of the time GM has same knowledge about scions as do the porters. SCION rep email has ours reaching us by the end of next week.....

While I wouldn't diss a friend/boss...That's pretty funny! As far as the end of this week, I don't doubt it. They're saying mine will be in by the end of the week as well. Actually I kind of doubt the time frame cause I've seen previous RS take longer @ port than stock cause of the mods they install before it goes out. There's nothing I would want more than to pick my car up next Saturday...My BDay is the 12th

Unless the RF keys have changed significantly in the last 2 years, your battery will only last 6-9 months. My wife had an '09 IS350 and we changed out the battery in her key fobs about every 6 months.

One other suggestion, figure out what kind of battery the fob takes now and buy a spare online. The Lexus fobs took a weird battery that we couldn't find at places like Walmart and the dealer wanted something like $25. Found it online for about $3, but had to suck up the extra cost the first time since, when the battery is about dead, the car thinks the key isn't present and dings at you. Very annoying.
