You traded an m roadster for a tC?

Actually traded in an M Roadster for a Pathfinder and the Pathy for the tC. I loved the BMW, but needed more trunk space and, at the time, couldn't afford a 2nd vehicle. Let me tell you though, I miss that car.

That makes a bit more sense

Get a quote from a company her insurance recommends and then just tell them you'll do the repair yourself. How you use the money is up to you. Nothing illegal about it.

Just be aware, if there is more damage than you thought and you discover it later, you're SOL.

Oh, I see what you're saying. Well, it's all up to what she's willing to do. If she wants her insurance to pay for it, then there's not much you can do if you want the money. If she's cool with paying cash, you can probably get it fixed without it showing up on your insurance, but don't count on just getting a check from her.

If I were her, I wouldn't pay anything directly to you. Way too much risk of you "forgetting" you got money, asking for more money, suing, etc, etc. Realistically, you can get her insurance to write you a check for the repairs or you might get her to pay the shop directly, but if she has half a brain, she won't just write you a check.
