Blue Tape or Green Tape? or does it matter?

Going on a road trip and the car is fairly new with 1500 miles and I don't have the clear bra and so i was gonna tape my front up to avoid rock chips and bugs.. I know the blue is multipurpose masking tape and the green masking tape is for performance but why do people always use blue?

AND YES THIS MIGHT BE THE DUMBEST QUESTION ON EARTH..

Unless you layer it on, it's pretty pointless. At 70mph a rock will penetrate that thin tape.

Agreed. Most people use it more for bugs, tar, and general road grime so they don't have to spend an hour cleaning the front bumper at a show.

paper smoothers rock... somehow...

Play it safe in the granny lane and give each car in front of you a 500 foot lead... I know, I know... really anoying.
