Good stuff! Definitely want to see pictures when you get to it. Waiting to see if Descendant's version too.

Well, here it is!

^This is where the inlet extends part way into the bumper.

The kit replaces the top of the air box, the inlet pipe, the hard pipe from the air box to the throttle body, and the air filter (with a TRD panel type). All clamps and hardware required are included for a simple bolt in assembly!

Now as for sound, my apologies, but I haven't got a clue if it changed. The Descendant Racing exhaust is far louder than any intake and has drowned out any chances of hearing it.

Throttle response is greater though and it does continue to drive fairly smooth. But the car is modded enough now that anything this intake did or didn't will be clearly hidden.

If your looking for the clean, stock-like look, this is a great quality piece!

So this is TRD's "Cold Air Intake", correct? I wonder what making the top half of the air box bigger does to improve air flow..

whats the change to the inlet pipe aside from those external grooves? is it larger diameter?

I imagine this might be better than a SRI but I don't think it justifies the pricing of it, $425 msrp from trdsparks (altho i assume it's gonna end up at around $300)

Awesome!! Congrats!

I really like how it looks for the close to stock appearance. But that price tag is killer.

Both the inlet and the elbow from the air box to the throttle body are larger than stock. The filter is also freer flowing.

I'm curious to see what it does over the long term and I would love to get it on a dyno again to see if anything was gained from this and the exhaust. Unfortunately, the most I can say is that TRD did test (and retest from what I heard) the intake until they had a design that produced power. It was engineered for that reason only, so if I'm getting a tester, they must be happy with the results.

Regarding the price tag, I wouldn't trust anything posted online just yet. Until it is officially available, any pricing posted will be guesses at best.

^ sounds good. I think I'd buy this if it was priced around $150, maybe $200 max

If you could do a dyno, that'd be pretty awesome since I already have the exhaust and am planning on an intake.

I'm with donsun, but being that it's TRD, i doubt it would be less than $200. I'd be guessing at around $250

Def not what I had in mind for a CAI for the 2011 tC. The TRD lettering on the box is a nice touch and keeps an OEM look. With all the price guesses I doubt it will be less than $300.

Gave it a rip on the highway today and it feels nice and smooth through the powerband. I really like it! While I still can't hear anything (damn exhaust), it does drive considerably better.

Do not use any pricing figures posted by anyone at this time. The part does not exist to the masses, therefore pricing does not either. Stay tuned, it will be available soon.

1stOne, can you hear little whines when the window is down? Because the prototype descendant sri that i have is in a box and with my exhaust i can hear little whines and swooshes with the window down. They are REALLY quiet though.

Can I get a sanity check on the CAI, is it offered in Canada as of yet?

We heard a little "swoosh" today from it when the throttle was depressed and the the windows were down, but never heard it again after.

May try again tomorrow with a few loaded drive-by's.

well with TRD Sparks adding the 'add to cart' button for the TRD "PAI" I assume the price is set at $375 which is a bit obscene for an intake. I'll be waiting for weapon R to come out with their SRI..
