Default Dynamic Autosports / Gruppe-S Scion TC Redline Time Attack Car

www.gruppe-s.blogspot.com

I found this cool blog about a 2nd Gen TC that is being built by Dynamic Autosports / Gruppe-S.com for Redline Time Attack. Doesnt say whos driving yet, but it says someone high profile. Also they are only beginning the build so it looks like a cool story to follow if you guys are interested.

Awesome to see another Scion hit the Racing World!!

Default UPDATE.. PT2

UPDATE FTW!!

http://gruppe-s.blogspot.com/2011/05...bon-fiber.html

"[ Summertime Dieting] Seibon Carbon Fiber x Hood/Hatch/Trunk"

"We here at Gruppe-S (Along with most Import Owners) love Carbon Fiber.... We'd eat it for breakfast if it was possible. Its a great composite material being ultra lightweight, stylish and durable. For our Time Attack TC we definitely wanted to make it as competitive as possible, and to lighten it up we had to go with the best brand out there, SEIBON Carbon.

Engineered to have awesome fitment, our Seibon Parts not only give our Project car a mean look, the vented hood allows for increased air flow in the engine bay for additional cooling as well as SIGNIFICANT weight savings. The trunk and the hood are on and the doors are coming in real soon so stay tuned!"

That hood is nice looking, but (and I'm sure this is elsewhere on the forum) are the vents just open to the outside, aka dust/dirt/snow/rain can get in if the car just sits outside?

...and on the photos, it's only the wipers and the cowl that are missing...the hood sits up flush on a normal car?

I'm hoping so, I do like the hood but I wouldn't get ride of my wipers for it, kind of need those, as far as the vented hood works, I'm sure that it would let stuff into the engine, but I had that on my last car. I had stuff in the engine bay all the time (including snow) and it was fine, although it may prove to be more of a problem if you have a CAI or a SRI, but honestly I still don't know a lot about it, so if anyone has any imput on that it would be greatly apreciated.

When I looked into the CF hood thing…I got the impression that the Gen1 hood fits right on the Gen2 tC. Can someone verify this for me? I understand that it was close enough but not perfect.

No, not even close, a first Gens shape is drastically different to the second gen.
